Must be one of the top motels we stayed in during our visit to NZ. Great service even to the extent of reccommending then booking a tableat "Stumpers". Thanks Les. Lovely unit, tastefully furnished, comfortable bed & armchairs. Full kitchen & excellent shower room. About one kilometre to town centre but there's a good local pub halfway back on the... more

Hidden treasure. Motel rooms are very nice, give you a homey feeling, tastefully decorated, fresh flower in room, very clean, lovely private terrace, we had a spa bathroom with hot tub and heaters in bathroom, spacious and great value for money. But you might need a car as it is quite far away from city center. more

Got a very good deal in May 2008 for two nights. Under NZ$100pn for a one bedroom unit. This is a refurbished motel with good quality furniture and fittings. The actual plan of the room suited us very well as we had a baby. The living area had a queen bed where we could sleep while baby could sleep in... more

Stayed at this motel for a night with my mother, so requested room with a seperate bedroom. It was just as advertised - very modern furnishings, lovely comfortable beds, BIG chairs to sit in when watching TV, relaxing and the other bedroom had a double and a single in it. The bed in the main room was a good sized... more

My husband and I took a couple days to drive down the west coast and wanted lodging that was comfortable, clean and affordable. We stayed at the Annabelle January 22, 2008 and it was more than we expected. It's recently been totally renovated and had everything you would need for even a few days stay. King bed was extremely confortable!... more

This is a fabulous small motel with friendly, personal service. The facilities are newly renovated, and everything in our room seemed brand new. We had a one bedroom unit (room 7) with a large common room that had a full-sized sofa and chair, along with a twin bed and dining table and chairs. The kitchenette was great—it had four burners,... more

It doesn't have ocean views, it's not in the centre of town, and its certainly not on a busy highway. So, why is it a secret!! Well, its in a quiet residential area and you would be lucky to find it, unless you were actually looking for it! We were fortunate to know about it because we did our research... more

Stayed at this motel in April on our whirlwind tour of the South Island. The motel has been taken over and completely renovated, we were the first to stay in our unit since the renovation, the units are beautifully fitted out and the one we stayed in had a Spa bath, lovely! The owners, Des and Marie, were really kind... more
