Lovely home run by lovely couple. Don't really need to add much more...but will...home was really comfortable, Frances and Brian were so friendly and helpful that it was hard to leave in the morning, especially as they had provided such an awesome breakfast.. our best in our three weeks! Would definitely stay there if in that area again.

Very good bea and breakfast for your stay in Hokitaku. We had a very warm welcome from the hosts, we immediately felt like we were at home and had some very nice and interesting conversations. Good room with good facilities. Breakfast was also perfect.

We stayed just one night in Hokitika and were not disappointed with our choice of Teichelmann's. Frances was a lovely hostess - friendly and welcoming with plenty of advice about things to do during our brief stay, even offering to drive us around places of interest outside the town as we did not have a car. We enjoyed visiting the... More

We loved this place! To start with, our lovely hosts upgraded us to the cottage because they knew we were on our honeymoon. They welcomed us by name and everything was ready to go - the room was pre-warmed since it was a cold windy day. There was a beautiful big bathroom with spa bath (which regrettably we didn't get... Frances&Brian have done this before.Superb welcoming hosts with the right balance of professionalism and warmth.A noninvasive introduction to local history and the best breakfast we have had for a long time. This is the best way to visit Hokitika and the real West Coast.I now appreciate Catton's Luminaries much more.

Frances and Brian were very welcoming hosts. The room was very comfortable with a most comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom with toiletries. The heating was excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and supplied at our requested time. Brian was a wealth of information about the local area and history. Highly recommended if visiting Hokitika.

It was our last night of a two-week trip to New Zealand. Frances and Brian were wonderful hosts and pointed us to some great shopping down the road. Hokitika is such a funny place, but we loved it and Teichelman's is definitely the place to stay.

Frances and Brian are great hosts. We were treated to shortcakes, tea and wine when we arrived and had a great chat with them. This place has a lot of character, feels like a museum. Very pretty garden too!

Thanks to Frances and Brian for making our West Coast sojourn so enjoyable. Teichelmann's was a haven, and right across the road from the Museum and around the corner from The French Cafe. When we arrived, Frances gave us a choice of which room we'd like, and offered us the cottage. It was perfect in every way. We spent four... More

We stayed at Teichelmann's back in December and found it a great little place to stay if you're heading through Hoki. It's as clean and comfortable as you'd hope for (with definite echoes of a typical English B&B) but it's Frances and Brian who really make the place what it is - lovely, friendly people with great knowledge of the...
