We stayed in the consulting room for one night during our honeymoon trip. Brian and Frances were very welcoming and interested in their guests. Brian is an endless source of information about westland, sights, activities etc. The guest lounge and breakfast room is very spacious, the consulting room was cosy and neatly decorated. Throughout the house the decoration reminds guests... more

My wife and I only stayed one night en route from Fox Glacier to Akaroa. I wish we had stayed longer. Frances and Brian offer fantastic hospitality in a wonderful period home in the centre of Hokitika. We were offered a choice of rooms and chose one on the ground floor overlooking the garden - large, comfortable, with private bathroom.... more

We stayed 1 night on 29 Nov 2009. The house is in a short street of shops and restaurants and we missed it the first time we drove down the road. The welcome was friendly and we were sat down in the lounge with tea and biscuits while the formalities were dealt with. The Wilson room was light and airy... more

We found Teichelmann's on the internet. It looked like an interesting place with a story behind it and seemed like a good stopover on our journey back to Christchurch. And it was! Frances and Brian were so friendly and hospitable that we felt like we were staying with family friends. Our abode for the night was the Garden Cottage, a... more

I stayed at Teichelmanns on easter friday 2009 at the start of a 4 day dash around south island. a great start, francis and brian were charming hosts immediately welcoming (a cup of tea and biccies) and a great history lesson, after a cross island journey from xchurch. breakfast was great, try the homemade kiwi jam! the town is quirky,... more

We stayed 1 night here and the hosts were most welcoming. This is an historical house and it is obvious that this property receives a lot of TLC. It is immaculate with an “oh so comfy” bed. We were in the Hopkins room which had en suite and overlooked the back garden. We were offered tea and home made cookies... more

Stayed here for one night touring South Island. Very caring hosts who cannot do enough for you, but maybe need to give guests a little space! Great location and excellent breakfast as mentioned in other reviews. more

We were recommended to stay in Hokitika and the Teichelmann's during our two week drive in NZ - both recommendations proved very good. We had a nice stay in a airy, comfortable room. Location is great in small Hokitika. more

Teichelmann’s lets you know that you’re entering a different B&B experience the minute you enter the door – a small white board lists the names of your fellow residents. You get to meet them in the evening with the hosts Frances and Brian as exchanges of past trips, favourite visits around Hokitika or New Zealand etc are made. The B&B... more

I really loved staying here. The hosts couldn't have been nicer or taken better care of the guests. The room was very nice and the breakfast was divine! Really wonderful was the communal breakfast where it was fun to meet other traveller's. I would highly recommend Teichelmann's if you find yourself in Hokitika. more
