My wife and I only stayed one night en route from Fox Glacier to Akaroa. I wish we had stayed longer. We stayed 1 night on 29 Nov 2009. The house is in a short street of shops and restaurants and we missed it the first time we drove down the road. We stayed 1 night here and the hosts were most welcoming. This is an historical house and it is obvious that this property receives a lot of TLC. It is immaculate with an “oh so comfy” bed. Stayed here for one night touring South Island. Very caring hosts who cannot do enough for you, but maybe need to give guests a little space! Great location and excellent breakfast as mentioned in other reviews. more

We were recommended to stay in Hokitika and the Teichelmann's during our two week drive in NZ - both recommendations proved very good. We had a nice stay in a airy, comfortable room. Location is great in small Hokitika. more

I really loved staying here. The hosts couldn't have been nicer or taken better care of the guests. The room was very nice and the breakfast was divine! Really wonderful was the communal breakfast where it was fun to meet other traveller's. I would highly recommend Teichelmann's if you find yourself in Hokitika. more
