Only meant to stay 2 nights here, but it was so lovely I stayed for 4! Claire and all the team and the 'hostel' looked after me so well and it was a lovely home from home for a few days. I didn't want to leave. The beds are the best I have slept in yet in New Zealand. Its... More

Spent one night here on our way down from Abel Tasman to Queenstown. Was one of the stand out places during our NZ trip, especially for the price, excellent value. ACCOMMODATION TYPE: Really homely feel to the place, like you're staying in someone's house. At the same time it's super relaxed and you don't feel like you're intruding into someone's... More

We spent 5 weeks in New Zealand - and this was top 3 places we stayed! We were cycling and had had a really long day when we arrived. We camped in the back garden and cooked and chilled in the lounge and kitchen area and we loved it! The whole place made us feel like we were at a... More

Stayed here while roadtripping the south island of NZ. After a warm welcome we stayed here for 1 night. Because we were roadtripping we were just looking for a clean place to stay for 3 people. There was a large parking space for our car and a kitchen where we could cook our mail without any problems. If you feel... More

We stayed here overnight last week and it was like a home away from home. I love the interior, so homely. Great job to Flavio the manager and to Marie for the hospitality. My cousin celebrated her birthday in this place. Flavio made the bonfire in the beach and sang a birthday song for her. It was indeed a beautiful... More

We would have stayed forever One of my favourite places we stayed (including some 4&5 star hotels) in NZ. We could not have been made feel more comfortable! I didn't want to leave Wifi could be improved but only a small observation

Awesome Beds! I mean, the sheets, the pillows and the mattress are just perfect, the only thing is you just won't get out of bed. When you do get out of bed, a homemade bread is made specially for you! This is the cosy small hostel you wan't to visit with just a great host and all she does is... More

Drifting sands is one of my fave backpackers in NZ! Both a cosy escape from the wild West Coast weather and a laid back classic kiwi beach pad - every night I fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. Beautiful. You can't go past a bonfire on the beach, sunsets on the beach, or a walk down to the... More
