We stayed one night at the Highpark Motor Inn after taking the Tranzscenic train over the Alps from Christchurch. When we booked, the proprietor had offered to collect us from the station (like most of the motels in Greymouth, Highpark was about 20 minutes' walk from the station), an offer that was much appreciated. this motel has 11 ground floor units, personally supervised by Russell, who is very helpful and informative. My room was good sized, very smart and clean with kitchen - microwave, coffee, etc. On a main road - but noise was not a problem. 2 restaurants and 1 supermarket - 5 mins walk, but plenty more downtown - about 5 mins... more
