A little gem tucked away 1 km west off state highway 73 between Rapahoe and Runanga north of Greymouth by about ten minutes. It is nestled under some low hills with plenty of surrounding greenery and has a nice deck for outdoor seating and is tastefully furnished inside. As a kiwi myself a little bit disappointed because this wasn't NZ hospitality quite at its best. My friend and self had a drink but did not get the relaxation desired as the man at the bar was listening to us and projected his opinions about everything. we stayed here and had a nice relaxing time in an historical old pub full of character. the cheapest beers around. clean and tidy rooms ,cabins as well. there is alsocheap overnight parking for campervans, tents,laundry. big lock up for motorcycles, which is great...just 1 km off the main west coast highway,only 7kms north of greymouth.. and of course the... This was the most interesting stay of our whole holiday! The locals are very "interesting" indeed! The owner is helpful which is good. It's a 30 min drive to Greymouth and Punakaiki. The accommodation is old very fashioned, there was a sink in our room, but you had to share the bathroom and showers which are down the corridor. You... More
