As soon as we arrived at this hostel (after a 10 hour journey) we felt welcomed. The man behind the desk was friendly and informative, sharing advice about things to do in the area and offering tips, like going down to the beach at sunset. The decor was great and the place was also really clean and spacious. Our bed... More

I just did a road trip for two weeks with some friends and the global village was the best hostel. The house is very welcoming and has lots of lovely details. We stayed in a 5-bed dormroom and it was really tidy and clean. I´ve never seen such a nice bathroom in a hostel! Also the kitchen is really nice... More

We stayed there for one night in a 5-bed dormroom and it was really good. Everything was tidy and clean and really pretty. I've never seen a bathroom like this in a hostel. It was so clean! The whole hostel is created with a lot of details and you can see the love inside. It was really cool to sit... More

Stayed 2x nights at Global Village in a private twin share room (Room 1) right next to the kitchen and bathroom area. Room was super clean, décor was lovely, kitchen/dining area is perfection - every utensil under the sun and always spotless. It was never noisy, staff were helpful and friendly, facilities were clean and accessible - good sized bathroom... More

One of the coolest hostel I've ever stayed at! Cozy homey feeling and the whole building with an African theme that makes the atmosphere really special. Really comfy clean rooms. Large kitchen with lots of cooking equipment. Well organised and really friendly staff! We borrowed kayaks for free and paddled down the idyllic small river at the hostel's doorstep. Greymouth... Comfy rooms and good beds. Really nice staff. Great common areas. Nice kitchen. They have free use of kayaks in the river that flows past their lovely green backyard. And they have ovens, so you can make muffins!

Loved this hostel from the moment I called to book. Yurie & Russel are both friendly and very polite. They left the room open for us to put our luggage in as they were not there when we arrived which was much appreciated. We were two guys in a 4 share room, however we had the room to ourselves for... From the moment we arrived we felt completely relaxed and at home. We we using Greymouth as a stop over between Fox glacier and Kiakora and this was a perfect mid-way point. The town of Greymouth itself is a little quiet and uneventful (apart from the Montieths brewery tour), so we primarly spent most of our time at Global village,... More

This was was different from the others where we stayed in New Zealand. Very original with a "global traveller" touch, it has a nice lounge with piano and guitar which I enjoyed. Nice walks and cycle tracks to start from there. The room was not huge but clean and nice.
