The location of the hotel is not great as there is nothing to do around. The room was the most tiny one I had in New-Zealand and the isolation was not great. If you are just there for one night, it is bearable otherwise I recommend for a longer stay to find another place.

We stayed one night at this hotel. The room was a decent size and comfortable but maybe a little dated. The bathroom was clean and a bit more modern. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel but had an express breakfast which was good and the restaurant staff were really helpful and chatty. Decent amount of parking, not located in... More

A good hotel. I stay here regularly for work, comfortable beds and always clean. But it's getting tired. I think every piece of kit in the gym has something wrong with it. The bedrooms are tired & a bit dated. And the menu needs to be spruced up too. I am a weekday visitor, and recognise the majority of people... More

When I logged in to write this review, I was really surprised by the 3 recent negative reviews that popped up in the margin. We thought the hotel was great! We usually stay in home rentals and were braced for what our 1 night in a hotel would be like. My entire family was very pleasantly surprised. Our room was... More

The beds were comfortable, the rooms are small but clean, no room safe, the wifi was good. The breakfast was good. The staff were nice. We only stayed here one night so I can't comment on how it would be for a longer stay. We did find the hotel to be quiet.

I have stayed here on two separate occasions and I didn't realise why I hadn't stayed here again after the first time.....until the second time. Because the doors in the hotel part seem to be spring loaded, they slam and my door would rattle. So anyone who comes in late or just doesn't have any sort of courtesy for other... More

Dear WellBedded, We regret that your experience with us was not enjoyable but we do feel this was mainly caused by other guests at the hotel being inconsiderate and slamming their doors as none of hotel room doors are spring loaded. We did check our rooming list at the time of request to be moved and found no guest to... More

We arrived, reception was not friendly at all, another staff member cut in front of us while we were talking to reception, she stopped dealing with us, and help the young guy out and then came back to us. Very rude, also the hotel does not tell you about the train that comes through a 2am in the morning, if... More

Stayed during our honeymoon in the South Island. Wouldn't recommend the place really, it's old, tired and outdated. It's clean and the bathroom has been done up a bit, but it's just past it's use-by date. It was like stepping back in time in the corridors of the big building and the view of the cemetery from our window was... More

I really boring menu without much choice. The Thai Vegetable curry consists of carrots, peas and potato. Minimal salad with our steak burger it was a tiny piece of pulverised steak, bread and chips. Plenty of staff with little to do. Sad! Did the owners consider wirk shopping with the staff to find some better solutions. It seems like a... More

Everything was just o.k., and for the price of NZ$140 a night, that's not o.k. The front desk was either vacant or serviced by someone with a vacant look. It's one of those places where "they couldn't less" about their customer. It's also not convenient to the downtown area. One would think that being part of the Williams Group Hotels,... More
