Hi Pohutukawa Lodge! Just want to say how fabulous it is to stay at your place. It is our first place to stay should we need accommodation in Whangarei. Love the fact the simple things are taken care of so thoughtfully – A full bottle of fresh milk for our hot drinks is available instead of those little containers that... More

We were headed to Paihia for the night but it was all booked up and it made financial sense to stop at Whangarei as it is a bugger place with more choice. Faced with such a choice we chose the BK Pohutukawa and boy are we glad we did. We'll probably change our holiday plans and use this as our... More

This hotel was nice, clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Convienent access off hwy 1 but relatively quiet. American should avoid driving in town however as it has one way and dead end streets and streets that change names frequently. Very confusing.

Great hotel. perfect value for money, big TV's in the room and the breakfast options are huge... go from a fully cooked breakfast to eggs benedict or just basics. Bathroom was spacious and the pressure and temperature of the shower was immense - so much that I wouldn't reccommend it for children as the water was extremely hot! Either way,... More

Stayed here for one night on our honeymoon and no complaints. Nice spacious room, delicious pancakes for breakfast delivered promptly and good location. At reception we were given lots of great information for not only exploring the area but how to best spend the next couple of days exploring the rest of the northland. We made great use of the... We enjoyed our over nighter here at this Motel- basic accommodation but wonderfully clean and fresh and that's the most important thing. Nice friendly staff too. Good parking at the door. was recommended by the Information Centre in Whangarei

This motel was booked for me through my company. It was the first time I stayed here and after a 2.5 bus ride from Auckland, it was a great place to rest and put my feet up. I was greeted with a happy chappy whose aura made me feel welcome, he was very helpful in making sure that I was... More

Stayed in one bed unit which had lots of room for kids to run around. Clean, well appointed but decor maybe a bit dated. On a busy road but we weren't disturbed by traffic noise. Host was very helpful by providing extra sheets and opening up the laundry room for us when our toddler had been sick!

We only stayed 1 night here but would have been happy to stay a week. The owner was SO friendly and helpful and when we were shown our room we just could not believe the size and extent and quality of the fittings & furniture. With a King-sized bed, single bed, 3-piece suite, large TV, table & chairs, a fully... More

We stayed one night here and the rooms were spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. These are the two most important things so I feel a bit mean for down marking this motel for some other things. There was a small fridge and a microwave but no sink to wash cups/plates unless you used the bathroom sink. Not ideal.... More
