Karen and Michael were lovely, caring hosts who looked after me perfectly. I was travelling alone and they were kind enough to include me in their evening. Michael had a fascinating collection of old books, radios and sewing machines, one if which he allowed me to examine. Items for breakfast were available in the guest's kitchen. The B&B was within... My wife and I stayed at Pilgrim Planet for 1 night during our 3 month bicycle trip all over NZ. Friendly welcome, simple but very clean and spacious room where we were allowed to take our bikes into. Thoughtful details (enough hooks, soap dispenser etc.) in the bathroom. Big comfortable livingroom and fully equipped kitchen free to guest's use. Breakfast... More

Thank you Mike and Karen for a very comfortable stay. As on previous visits, we were travelling with two other couples and found your accommodation perfect for socializing in the shared lounge, enormous well equipped kitchen, and relaxing on the sunny deck area. We will definitely return - as we have in the past - Can't beat this lovely home... More

My wife and I have stayed at several B&Bs, with Pilgrim Planet being most memorable. Michael & Karen were wonderfully welcoming hosts. Their B&B was purpose built by them; the layout is thoughtful - a large family home with both privacy and public spaces, all the rooms have on-suites. Of particular interest is the recycled Kauri and other native timbers... More

We stayed at Pilgrim Planet for for just the one night during our travels. It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It is very comfortable, spacious, and immaculately presented. I found the hosts, Michael and Karen, both to be very friendly and considerate people with a great sense of humor. Michael has a great knowledge of local history and attractions.... More

We have stayed at Pilgrim Planet regularly over the past three years - most recently last week. The rooms are modern and well equipped. We like the combination of the privacy of our own room and bathroom, combined with the opportunity to socialise with other guests in the spacious common areas (kitchen, lounge areas and courtyard). We've has some great... More

My wife and I stayed over one night . Pilgrim Planet is a lovely place - the place was recently built and everything felt new. The room we stayed in was comfortable with an LCD TV on the wall. I booked this accommodation on-line and upon arrival - as my travel companion & partner Jane tried to check us in (whilst I was on business call) we where informed we could not stay there because we could not share a King sized bed. Room was large with good facilities. we had the front room and the traffic was a little loud, but the double glazing helped and we slept just fine. The shared kitchen was lovely, with the 'retro' stove having everyone envious that they did not have it at home. We enjoyed the later part of our evening talking to some other... More
