5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW via mobile

We had decided to spend the last 3days of our six week holiday on the Coromandel Peninsula. Thames seemed the ideal location and Cotswold Cottage was a super base for us. The room was excellent and the house had stunning views. Gareth and Adrienne were great hosts and recommended two great days out touring the area. The only downside was... More

We were lucky to come across this B & B by pure chance. Impressive from start to finish! Gareth & Adrienne were excellent hosts with tea & freshly baked scones, excellent advice on sight seeing as well as ideas for dining out. The rooms were very well presented with lovely bedding, towels and toiletries with the added pleasure of a... More

We arrived late and called to say we would be late and this did not present a problem in any way. We spent a very relaxing night at Cotswold Cottage and were very pleasantly surprised on our arrival with all the little extras to make your stay comfortable. Chocolate bars on the very well stocked tea trays, a guest lounge... More

We arrived on a sunny afternoon in February and were greeted by the owner, Adrienne, who showed us to our room and then brought us tea and homemade scones out onto the lawn! There are 3 rooms here and our room was stunning, from the four poster bed to the jacuzzi bath to the specific brown 'makeup' facecloths in the... More

We were recommended Cotswold Cottage by the owner of the B&B of our prvioys stay. The recommendation was worthy and we stayed in teh Aynsome Room. The room was beautifully decorated with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent with a large choice of food. In true New Zealand stlye the hospitality offered by our hosts was exceptional and would... More

This was an excellent B&B just south of Thames on a hill overlooking the river and the mountains. Set in a beautiful garden with great views from the Terrace. Tea and scones on arrival were brilliant and the home made scones with home made lemon curd were to die for. Lovely quiet bedrooms and a great breakfast. Garth and Adrienne... More

This place may divide opinions. The BB is close to Thames but still a bit isolated and I had difficulties with finding it (and driving there via the steep hill and a turn). Even if you like a bit of piece and quiet, you may get too much of it here. The rooms are rather small and basic although do... More

I am a little perplexed. We have no record anywhere of a John O from Southampton staying here this year. I do know the name though, because at about this time last year a similar review was posted by the same person, relating to a stay he had here back in 2012 or 13. The review was not very pleasant,... We stayed two nights, looking for a half way point between the east and the west side of the peninsula. The location was perfect. Garth and Adrienne were perfect hosts. The breakfast provided was excellent. The rooms however, were very sparce and basic though, the room was small with absolutely no storage. the bathroom although clean was small and again... More

Thanks Diane for taking the time to review Cotswold Cottage. Sorry to hear that the rooms were not up to standard for you. You opted for the cheapest room, and because the bed is a huge superking bed, the space in the room is compromised. It is difficult, however, to envisage the room as 'sparse' - which means measly, or... More

Cotswold cottage is a great place to experience Coramandel region. The B & B experience was one of the highlight of the trip. The host's were gracious, friendly and helpful. They were great tour guides. Just land there they can plan your itinerary. Rooms were fantastic, well kept, plush bathrooms. Breakfast is adequate.

Cotswold Cottage is in a lovely setting outside Thames with views over the the racecourse to the surrounding hills. The rooms are a good size and very nicely furnished. Our hosts were lovely, leaving you in peace but very attentive when you needed them. The scones on arrival were delicious and the breakfast was also excellent. Overall everything was just... More
