After spending a night here, I can fully recommend this motel for short or not so short stays. It’s a boutique motel tucked away in a residential area by a stream, so it’s quiet and peaceful. There’s no traffic noise yet is quite close to town. We stayed in the large studio unit which is in the old homestead and... More

Yvonne & Keith made my Mum and I feel most welcome. We spent our time in Thames visiting my brother who was in Thames Hospital, so the close location to the hospital was a bonus. the bush surroundings with the sound of the river and the birds etc was so peaceful to hear and to look at. Close enough to... More

Stayed two nights and really enjoyed our stay. Our unit had everything we needed including a little patio out the back. Could hear and see the brook running. The complimentary morning paper was a plus - just remember to order it at night. The host, Yvonne was extremely helpful. The location ideal, close to shops but extremely quiet. Would highly... More

The motel is situated a bit off the main road and the village centre and therefore very quiet. Our unit, which featured a double bed, a kitchen, a bathroom and a sunny terrace facing the gardens and a little river in the back was absolutely spotless and we enjoyed our time here very much. The hosts were very friendly and... More

Tucked away off Karaka Road is this small motel complex which borders the creek. It has a total of 5 rooms and we stayed in the smallest studio ($90). The rest of the rooms were bigger. It was peaceful, quiet and you could hear the creek and the birds... And even though our room was small it was beautfully appointed... More

We stayed here in April 2014, for 3 nights in a standard unit. The motel is of an older style and in need of some updating. It is located within walking distance of the town centre and the hospital. There are gardens at the back and the unit had its own deck with table and chairs. The unit was clean,... More

We loved our 1 night stay at the Brookby. It was close enough to the shopping area and restaurants but still quiet. The room was lovely and decorated in heritage style with stained glass accents, high ceilings and French doors to a pretty deck in the garden. The bathroom was clean, bed comfortable and hostess pleasant and efficient. The atmosphere... More

We stayed 1 night in Room 6, a beautiful "historical "room with nice furniture and French doors to a small deck at the front. Very tastefully decorated. Would certainly highly recommend. Great value for the money. Very well equipped.

This delightful motel is on the hill, 8 minute walk from the town, in lovely bush surrounding. We were in a 1 bedroom which was very clean, cosy with a huge, comfortable double bed and good size bathroom. There was a balcony at the back, with a table, chairs and umbrella, just lovely. We spent 2 nights there, dined at... More

This proved just perfect for our overnight stay en route to Auckland. It's just far enough from the hub of town to provide a haven of peace and tranquility but not so far that we couldn't comfortably walk into town to dine at Bullion in the main street. Our little 'flat' was clean, comfortable and spacious. Just right. Highly recommendable.
