The owner is simply horribly not welcoming, the instalations are old and filthy and the price is really to high for what it is... The comons areas smell like an old house, humid and stinky. To avoid at all coast !

This place is a shocker, many other better options, keep driving!! This place deserves a negative rating but that's not possible on tripadviser. Bathrooms...filthy & old. Cabins...overpriced and very run down. Camping...overpriced. The common areas are a joke, not somewhere you would want to spend any time. Front reception/management...no such thing as hospitality charm here. If you are looking for... More

This is a great place to stay to explore Thames and the lower Cormandel instead of blasting North straight away. The camping ground is quite spacious and secluded, though only a couple of minutes off the main road. There are the usual amenities including a well appointed kitchen and swimming pool - alternatively there is a swimming hole in the... More

We made this our first stay in a camper van tour of New Zealand, it sounded ideal and on our route from Auckland airport to the Coromandel. It is only at the end of our trip that we can now look back and see that this place is very very poor. The kitchen was appalling, neither of the two gas... More

When we arrived The guy in the reception had terrible manners and was not happy when we said there was now 1 less person and we would be here 1 less night. We had rung 2 weeks prior to arrival to let them no this. We were given all the information which felt like it was all just chucked at... More

Small and friendly. Old fashioned but it added to the charm. Pool an added bonus. Don't go expecting luxury and you won't be disappointed. $55 dollars for a family of 4 was good value and lovely places to eat and explore in and around Thames. We will return!

This was probably the best place we stayed in our rented campervan during a three-week trip around New Zealand. It's quiet and the owner let us choose our spot. There's a creek with a swimming hole right there, and a pool. The flowering trees are gorgeous. It's about an hour and a half from Auckland so makes a great place... More

Absolutely stunning location just outside Thames, surrounded by beautiful forest. All sorts of flora and fauna to keep you interested, plus a nice bit of river to dip in on the hot days. Unlike some big 'grid-based' holiday parks, this is a lovely warren-like collection of small, secluded areas, with none too far from the facilities. Friendly staff were a... More

We were looking for a place to stay in the area and while this park looked nice and tidy, it was a bit pricey for us. As we were about to leave ( we did not use any facility or behave in respectfully in any way) the manager ( or owner, I'm not sure) came to us and started yelling... More

Hi, Obviously it is never a great thing for anyone when someone feels compelled to write a review like this. I have no idea who this reviewer is, and don't remember the specific details from last December. But, on behalf of our valued clients...over ten thousand a year, I must point out.... The increase in dishonesty encountered by accommodation providers... More

We have stayed at this location over a number of years now which is situated 3 minutes out of the main township of Thames. Annually we hire the non-powered tent sights near the Pioneers Kitchen that is an especially safe for children as it does not have a free low drive way for vehicles. The staff are always friendly and... More
