We were recommended The Junction for dining by our hosts at Cotswold Cottage. We were not disappointed. There was a good selection of wine and beers and a varied menu. The food was excellent and did offer smaller sized meals which suited us down to the ground. It was full of locals which is always a good sign and the... More

The Grahamstown Restaurant in the Junction Hotel is a great place for dinner. Three of us stopped here for the first time and enjoyed good, wholesome fare from an uncomplicated menu. The service was excellent. I had a steak done exactly to my liking. Not the cheapest, but worth every cent. Can only recommend highly.

We stop here on the way to and from Coromandel. It is nicely decorated and has a good atmosphere. The beer is served in pint glasses which maybe too much if only stopping for a short stopover. The Waikato was good and I prefer a seat next to the window where you can look out onto the street and watch... More

Popped in here for tea (that's evening meal) and was pleasantly surprised. Excellent service from the staff, good beer (free taste if you ask) and excellent food. Not the cheapest in town, but probably the best. I had a Caesar salad from the specials menu and I still can't figure out how they managed to soft boil and bread crumb... More

The place is clean and tidy and the staff quite attentive and quick. We chose our meals and were pleased with both the quality and presentation. The portions were 'full'. The only small drawback is that it's a bit noisy. I would recommend this place for a meal in Thames.

I took a couple from France here for dinner recently and although the waiter was much appreciated by the females in our party the food was only average. That was not a huge surprise, but we were greatly surprised when our enquirey about the whereabouts of our change resulted in the advice that it had been assumed we would to... More

We had read several good reviews for the restaurant in this hotel (they call the restaurant the Grahamstown Bar and Diner or GBD), but we were a bit underwhelmed. The main disappointment was the service. We arrived about 6.30 on a quiet Saturday night and we were the only ones at a table there at the time, yet nobody came... More

I stayed here on a GrabOne deal which was very cheap. I now know why! I was warned when booking that there would be loud live music on the Friday night. They were right - it was very loud until late and I slept poorly, even though I'm a pretty deep sleeper. However, because I had been warned, I accepted... More

Have not stayed here but have eaten and drunk there and found it very pleasant, comfortable with nice helpful friendly staff and customers. It is easy to find about 2/3rds down the main street and on a Monday night is probably only one of a view places open on the whole street. They have good priced food and drinks are... More

Perfect accommodation for those holidaying in NZ on a shoestring budget. Good sized rooms, clean and very helpful staff. There is a restaurant on the ground floor which has a good varied menu that is not overpriced, but if you like a wine with your meal, be prepared to pay top dollar. One tip, do not order the shared seafood... More
