Perched on the very top of the hill above the other houses, this is a lovely B&B where we were made most welcome. The room has an en-suite shower room with a powerful shower. Adjacent to the room is a lounge for the guests, there were two sets of guests when we were there. A choice of cooked or continental... More

This was our first stay in a B&B after 4 nights of staying with old friends in New Zealand...and we couldn't tell the difference! Pauline and Dennis made us so welcome. The location is perfect, and their hospitality so warm and genuine . We travelled with friends who have mistakenly rated it as "poor"...this was an error and should be... More

We had a very warm welcome from Pauline accompanied by home made cake and tea. Dennis and Pauline are great hosts with a wealth of local information to impart to guests. Their home is lovely, the facilities are very comfortable and breakfasts are exceptionally good. We wish we could have stayed for more than two days! A perfect start to... More

Pauline and Dennis were wonderful hosts - we felt right at home. Breakfasts were hearty and delicious (free range eggs are from their chickens), the bed was extremely comfortable, the entire suite was spotlessly clean. Expansive views from high up, over the water and beyond. It was a short 5 minute drive into the town of Thames where we enjoyed... More

We arrived at chatre manor after a very stressful six hour drive from kerikeri in pouring rain. On arrival Pauline had the kettle on, tea made and homemade cake and biscuits out. Yum. Beautiful view from our room, bed good and breakfast delicious. Pauline and Dennis are welcoming and hospitable. We only stayed one night but due to weather issues... More

What a fantastic place to stay, Pauline and Dennis were the perfect hosts and the tea, biscuits and sweets at any time of the day were an addition that was most welcome. The views from the balcony are stunning and the sunsets are to die for. Breakfast is exceptional and coupled with the view can be quite memorable. The rooms... More

Stayed two nights with Pauline & Dennis but was not long enough. They made us feel very much at home. Comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and unbelievable views across Coramandel bay. Highly recommend.

What an amazing find! Chartre Manor was such a delight. It was winter when we stayed and we were made extremely welcome with a wood fire, biscuits and sweets! The breakfasts are filling and gorgeous. The rooms are just stunning, great views, SUPER CLEAN! We loved this place and will be back again next year! Thank you x

I had been to Thames and the Coromandel area many times, but staying here was the best choice. While the cute town of Thames is only a 5 minute drive down the hill, this peaceful elevated location looks both to the expansive firth of Thames and its many bays out the front, as well as the forest of the coromandel... This was an excellent stay with great hospitality and facilities. The service was very good and I especially liked the cooked meals. The house was very clean and homely and had an amazing view. I would certainly recommend it
