Made the mistake of going to the Exchange Hotel across the road. Staff shocking. Decided to have a few bevvies in the gold bar. Super friendly. Then up for dinner. Had a surf and turf steak. To die for. Way too large but it had to be done. Top place for Kal. No where else comes second. We were there... More

Be prepared for a bit of street noise but this is a town of hard workers in a tough industry so they're entitled to let off a bit of steam. The Palace is a beautifully restored relic of a bygone era. Lovely heritage building, small, clean, comfortable bedrooms. I had a balcony room which was well worth the little extra cost.... More

My sister and I recently travelled to Kalgoorlie with our elderly parents and stayed at the Palace Hotel for two nights. We initially booked a family room for the four of us however my sister discussed our requirements, and in particular, the difficulty our father has with stairs when discussing the booking. On arrival, we were greeted by the very... More

The Palace is a Kalgoorlie institution. Beautiful heritage building and decor...but sadly this ends once you climb the grand staircase. Stayed in a double room for 2 nights...room itself was quite small but serviceable. Creaking floorboards I could handle...but you really do get tired of tackling the stairs after a while. I was very appreciative of late checkout and help... More

This old heritage hotel was great fun to stay at. We got a couple of Balcony rooms which I recommend as they overlook the street action of Kalgoorlie. The rooms are a bit strange as the bedroom part has no windows and leads to the bathroom and exit to the balcony instead. Super soft mattresses (be warned if you don't... More

Rusty looking from the outside but well maintained on the inside. Food served in the restaurant was excellent, the response time for overall service and attention was reasonably good, but most of all, the service came from the heart. From my room on the second floor I could access the Balcony area over looking Kalgoorlie main street (Henan's). I stayed... More

Thanks to the team at the palace for the lovely food. We ate there at least 3 times a week whilst recently posted to Kal on business. The team are warm, inviting and friendly. And the Voyager red wine helped.....

I stayed at the Palace Hotel for one night only (4 May, 2014). I had booked in advance and took the bus from Esperance (see my separate reviews of Esperance). Due to my late arrival, the main reception was already closed and the paperwork was done upstairs in the restaurant. Check-in was friendly and quick. I don't remember my room... More

Well I've rated this 2 star because it was not what i wanted and couldn't pick up on it from any reviews, your reading this so here's my take. I had a balcony room (but also booked a 2 bed suite for my daughter below - see details later) If you stay friday night and saturday night then there is... More
