Upon check-in at the Gateway Motor Inn another guest came in for fresh milk which hadn't been changed from the previous occupants. We should have taken this as a not a good sign of things to come. Despite being promised a queen bed and 3 single beds for ourselves and our two children we were given a room with 2 double beds. No soap was provided in the shower, the milk was out of date, the kids cable channel was not working, and my five year old son was upset to find baby spiders in the hand towel when he went to dry his hands. Upon our return to our room just after 9.00pm christmas eve we discovered no housekeeping had been done and instead of just being able to come back and relax I was instead having to chase up fresh towels and clean own crockery etc in order have a cup of tea!! To think we paid $300.00 for two nights stay for all this hassle. The final insult came at check-out when we were overcharged for breakfast.
