I never really took to this hostel, staff werent that nice, st kilda was a really nice area, but im sure there are better hostels than this one, it was clean, but hoovers/vaccums were blaring at 9/10am in the morning, there is a good smoking area where you can drink till 2am. little far from the city centre but trams... more

Habitat HQ advertise as a "4.5 star backpacker hostel", but while the double ensuite rooms are clean and spacious with AC and TV, the service was some of the worst I've seen. Even when you're the only one in the queue and there are 2 staff members at the reception surfing the web, or whatever they do, they do not... more

We stayed here for a week- double room en suite Aus$80 per night. It is on the tram line running into town - but bear in mind that's Aus$7 for a day pass. Rooms were basic- a/c, two single beds pushed together, tv in corner of room. Shower was good. They have a 'eco friendly' policy to only change sheets... more

I stayed at what was then called Cooee on St Kilda for 3 weeks in March 2008. The hostel was only 1 year old then as I was there at it's 1st birthday party when Lynn Scully from Neighbours came. The kitchen wasn't too bad but they could have done with more pans. You paid a deposit for a tub... more

This is a good backpacker hostel but if you're thinking about staying in one of the $100 ensuite rooms you might want to spend an extra $10 or $20 and stay in a real hotel. The hostel is clean, the staff friendly, if not a little indifferent, and the beds very comfortable. But the hostel is not "in the heart... more

This was a great hostel. My boyfriend and I opted for the private on suite room. It was clean, spacious, had tea and coffee making facilities and a TV. The hostel itself is very modern with a great kitchen, lounge area, and free internet access for one hour per guest. We were in a campervan so the free parking was... more

If you are backpacking & used to roughing it - you will love it, by hostel standards it is very high. It’s clean, got aircon, good water pressure, good size kitchen (although you have to pay for use of dishes and cutlery), good transport to the city centre (+20min by tram), quite clean and comfy beds, a short but free... more

Had a really great stay in the Coee in April '07. Staff were great (really friendly and helpful receptionists), and you get a free hour of internet per day you stay. The rooms and common areas were clean, comfortable and organised, and there were lots of activities on such as a barbeque and a pizza 'n' dvd night. One thing... more
