The hostel was in a good location in St Kilda, with bars, restaurants and beaches in close walking distance. We stayed in the single room, which was nice and clean, but the rest of the hostel feels like a college dorm due to the close knit group of people staying here long term. They were welcoming, but be prepared to... More

All I can say is, don't stay here if you actually want to get any sleep. On Saturday night the live band downstairs is so loud, that despite being on the second floor, the room was vibrating. When the music finally stopped at 3am, my ears were still ringing. The 'children' who stay here are only interested in drinking and... More

If you're aged between 18 and 25 and want your Australian backpacker experience to involve nothing apart from a year or two away from mum and dad allowing you the opportunity to live without any rules and copious amounts of goon, then this is the place for you. Sadly, I do not fall into the above category hence found myself... More

The hostel itself is in a really good location with a team stop right outside. I was greeted by a young guy he seemed to not have a clue what was going on... The bathrooms are really clean but there's never hot water in the showers! The kitchen is dirty and the people in there make you feel very unwelcome!... More

Good - The place is okey closed to transport, walk to St. Kilda Beach, takeaways along Fitzroy street. It is not far to Melbourne CBD. Downside - some guest are too noisy running up and down the hallway with loud music on. Pub on Saturday nights goes until 3am. I had ear plugs on. And I will tell you. It... More

I rocked up to this hostel on my own and made life long pals here. Its best to get a room upstairs and not an ideal place to stay if you are working full time because it is such a party atmosphere. Its wicked though, you get free BBQ on Fridays, free wine on Tuesdays and free pancakes everyday if... More

I have stayed in a few backpackers now and this one is by far the best, very good staff, nice residents, free wine and cheese on tuesday will definitely get you meeting new people and just up the road from St Kilda beach.

Party's are all fair and well but when you get woken up at 8am by someone with a Hoover on there back cleaning hallway outside your room every morning it gets bit much I think they should also... Ritz for Backpackers is about 15 minutes tram journey from city center. The best thing about this hostel is the friendly environment. All the staffs are very cooperative. They act like friends rather than professionals. Also it's full of young people, always. So there prevails an awesome environment around the lobby and kitchen. Though there's no wifi availability in rooms.... More

This place is very dirty, the kitchen surfaces aren't cleaned, the shower had vomit in it, the toilets had vomit down them. There was a horrible atmosphere in the kitchen when pancakes were served, all the seats had gone so me and my boyfriend had to reach over people huffing and tutting at us. There is a pack mentality between... More
