I'm a female backpacker, i stayed in Sanctuary which is the all girls dorm. You get free champagne for an hour at night and little extras. My stay at Base was very enjoyable, great people, clean, great night life, very good location, number 96 tram takes you straight into Melbourne from the 24hour mcdonalds! Overall great stay!

This backpackers has a bar/club downstairs, which is great in this party area of Melbourne. Very easy to meet people, great drinks deals. Very centrally located, near the town and beach Dorm was ok, but would have been good if the aircon worked, also 1 bathroom between 10 was quite hard, but great if you are travelling

I have spent a fantastic week end at X base, great staff, great people and great location. The metro stopo and pub are close. Every night there is a party but the you don't heart the noise from the rooms!!!!!! All gooD!!!!!

the good: clean, lockers, most of the staff are friendly, great location the bad: its a party hostel, so if you dont want to party every night its the wrong place for you, especially in 8bed / 10bed dorms

I had a fantastic time at Base. Was very very fun, always a party!! Stayed in 10 bed dorm which was great, 306 was a lot of fun. One guy even got 306 tattood on his leg. Staff were great, always helpful for any kind of your problem. 10/10! Base thank you!!!

Its a happening Hostel. Stayed in the Double room as we are a couple. No problems. Only good things happened. Service from staff was great. Offered better rates for long term stays. Really good Hostel
