The artwork alone makes this great boutique hotel worth a visit. Sure, the rooms are small, but they're spotless and the location is tops, with the bonus of cheap, secure parking just metres away. Staff are very helpful and there's the bonus of a great bar and restaurant downstairs.

Lovely hotel. Excellent location. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well presented although dark blue made room look a little small. Added extra of an umbrella was great idea. Would recommend rhis hotel and book again.

We recently stayed at the Tolarno for 3 nights. While our room was tiny it was nice and sunny and very clean with a spacious bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful and its very convenient for tram travel. Definitely recommended.

Great little boutique hotel, very helpful and informative staff. Good location for our visit. Very neat and tidy rooms, comfortable bed and pillows and good linen. Nice leafy views of the street outside. Cramped bathroom, but hey, you aren't in there often! Amazing artwork in the room and throughout the hotel. Great bar and restaurant on the ground floor.

This is a lovely boutique hotel with clean rooms containing large televisions. The tram line is right outside making for simple travel to the city. Only a 10-15min walk to Acland St or hop on the tram.

Hello Daryl M, We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Tolarno’s . The flat screen TV’s in the rooms are quite large – very good for watching the tennis! Good to hear you found it easy to travel about; both locally and in the city. Thank you for taking the time to review us, and... More

The Hotel is situated in a great location, close to restaurants, cafe's and St Kilda beach. The tram stops outside the Hotel and about a 20 minute ride into Melbourne CBD. The Hotel was in very good condition and we loved the way it was painted and the paintings that adorn the walls. The room was small but had everything... More

Hello lewandleanne, We really appreciate your recent review. It’s very rewarding to hear how much guests, like yourselves, appreciate the style and the artwork within the hotel. The 37 rooms all vary in size, as it was originally a very large house. You are right in saying the rear of the hotel is quieter, as is the main body of... More

The location of this hotel is perfect. Surrounded by great bars, restaurants, cafes and a five minute walk to the stunning St Kilda beach, where you can also catch a glimpse of a few penguins at the end of the pier. There is tram stop outside, which takes you into central Melbourne in about 20 minutes or so. Auckland street... More

Hi Kuljit K, Thank you for your review. You have given a really comprehensive guide to the local area; recommending all St Kilda has to offer, including the penguins at the end of the pier! The local eateries make it hard to decide to cook for , as there is a very wide range from the inexpensive to fine dining... More

Wonderful place to stay on the main road through St Kilda. Fantastic artwork on the walls throughout the hotel, giving it a classic and unique look. Clean rooms and hallways, with a fantastic bar and restaurant at the front (Mirka). A small kitchen area in my room was great to let me make my own breakfast if I wanted to,... More

Hello RDN74, Thank you very much for taking the time to review Tolarno’s. It sounds like you made the most of the neighbourhood and used the local transport to go into town. Very pleased to hear you enjoyed Mirka’s. We would love to have a lift and have looked at various ways we could install one but it is quite... More

This hotel is filled with arts pieces. The reception may looked a bit 'old school' but the paintings and lighting installation are on the first floor. I booked a suite and offered a choice of one on the semi basement floor and a slightly smaller one on the first floor. Both suites were clean, well maintained with nice modern furnitures.... More

My husband and I stayed at the Tolarno Hotel for 6 nights in October. We requested a quiet room and were given a ground floor room at the back of the hotel. It was perfect. Very quiet. It could get quite noisy on the street outside late evening, but this felt like a world away once we were inside our... More

Dear Catherine L, Thank you for writing such a comprehensive review. It’s great to hear you experienced such a peaceful stay, as it’s true that it can be pretty lively out on the street.
