We had 3 lovely nights recently in the Bass Strait Suite at the Goat and Goose. My wife had booked it and I was expecting the usual B&B experience. Well I was wrong - this was a lot more more than than that! Richard and Joy were the perfect hosts and I feel privileged to have stayed in their wonderful... more

The Goat & Goose is in a location that GPS can’t go – and that is a good thing. (Just follow the signs and web directions!) We felt so welcomed in the home of Joy & Richard . Their house, built entirely by hand, has an incredible view and full of adventure in every nook and cranny. We had some... more

Stayed at the Goat & Goose on September 13th - it was superb. Friendly, welcoming (sat round the kitchen table chatting as if with family), and what a great location - beautiful views and wildlife (birds) to watch. Stayed in the seperate cabin and what a treat with the spa bath, 4 poster bed and the views. Great to wake... more

We stayed in the Goose's Nest during our honeymoon in April this year and, although we were passing through Lakes Entrance only briefly, we are very glad we did if only to get the opportunity to meet and talk to Joy, the proprieter. The room itself was great and whislt being more than comfortable, it is really about the views... more

Sadly we found it very disappointing given what we'd read on it and it's then website. Room provisions, furnishings and quality are basic. It ldidn't feel as if it had the personal care and touch feel and things like nice towels, real tea and coffee provisions were absent. Joy cooks a good breakfast though and no shortage of it. As... more

We were the only guests as the rooms were being renovated and it was winter! We stayed in the Goose's Nest which is separate to the main building and contains a 4 poster bed, double spa bath and stunning views over the ocean through full length windows. DO NOT close the curtains when you go to bed, if you do... more

We booked the Goat and Goose having read the good reviews on tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. The B&B is lovely. Richard and Joy are delightful and we were welcomed like part of the family. We sat around the large kitchen table chatting before being shown our room - the goose's nest - which was lovely and provided a four-poster... more

We got a warm welcome from hosts Richard and Joy. This house is very interesting - they built it themselves and it is open plan with lots of light and natural wood. Views of the ocean are fabulous. The room was very nice with a spa bath. Breakfast was great - don't miss out on the scones! The Goat and... more

Richard, the innkeeper and a fishing boats mender, built that charming wooden house himself, where Joy and him run a warm and pleasant B&B. Our room had a spa bath and a spectacular view of the ocean. The homey hospitality contradicts the somehow tacky nature of the town. Breakfast with Richard and Joy was a real treat. more
