We arrived in Geelong after driving down from Sovereign Hill and deciding to break up our journey before getting on the Great Ocean Road. We had nowhere booked to stay and called in at the local tourist information office where 2 very helpful ladies showed us a selection of what was available and we chose Nireeda, it being just around the corner from the TI office. The owner met us there within a very short time and showed us round a top floor apartment. For a very reasonable price we had a huge apartment, fully equipped with everything you could need for a stay be it one night ,as we were staying, or a month. The place was spotlessly clean, simply furnished and had lots of useful information about where to shop/eat out etc. Geelong itself is fairly quiet and there didn't seem to be much to keep you there but that was a big plus as it would make you travel to other places to visit but , if you had booked a longer stay than we did, with a comfortable base to return to each night...
