This motel was outstanding.

From the limited amount of free water, beer and soft drinks available (most unusual in an Australian motel) to the friendly receptionist and well appointed, clean rooms, we did not experience a single problem.

The tariiff of $110 a double was reasonable value considering the quality accommodation we received. It would be 50 per cent more in a Melbourne suburb, and above that again in Melbourne's CBD.

Echuca is a growing town with retirees from Melbourne attracted by Echuca's dry climate of almost constant sunshine. There is plenty to do, such as taking a paddlesteamer cruise a brief distance up the 'Mighty Murray' (River).

However all this might mean little if visitors had a poor sleep.

Thankfully at the Nirebo we could hardly have slept better.

The motel was only one third full midweek but as Echuca is a tourist town, weekends are almost certainly far busier. more
