Our room was comfortable and very clean. It was a 38c day when we stayed and the air conditioner kept us cool. Staying on site of Sovereign Hill is such a bonus! We could enter early for our dinner and wander around the streets with no crowds. The included Devonshire tea was delicious and welcome after travelling several hours to... More

This review is about the Comfort Inn at Sovereign Hill in Ballarat (soon to be rebranded as "The Gateway", as they tell you on arrival and ask you for an opinion on it), not the attached tourist attraction Sovereign Hill. This hotel bizarrely gives itself 4 1/2 stars, I'm not sure whether there is an official grading on the place... More

Comfort Inn Sovereign Hill is a really great place to stay for people who need to visit Soverigh Hill. Hotel has a back door directly through Sovereigh Hill so guests easily to get in and out without pass through the front door. That is only good thing for us. My family book a room+ package ( 2 days entrance tickets... More

We stayed overnight at the comfort Inn and had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived which was before our 2pm check in we were greeted warmly. We had booked through sovereign hill which was a family package and it included entry to sovereign hill for 2 days and accommodation with breakfast included. The room was nothing fancy but... More

Decided that we wanted to do Sovereign Hill at our leisure so we booked a couples package through the Sovereign Hill website that included accommodation here. There is direct access through the back of the hotel into Sovereign Hill. Buffet breakfast. Free parking Rooms were in the Residence, a beautifully done up building. Pipes groaned and the floors creaked but... More

I spent 2 nights and from the minute I arrive the staff were helpful and friendly. The girl on reception talked me through the ticket options for Sovereign Hill and was able to get me booked in for the Blood on the Southern Cross show that evening and the pre show meal. The room was very nice and the building... More

A very comfortable place to stay with nice bread and nice showers, and bathrooms. We spent three nights there travelling to Sovereign Hill mIning town and Krizyl Medieval castle. We went to the RSL hotel in downtown Ballarat for a marvelous fish and chip meal --Barramudi Fish and English style chips. The gold mining museum near the Motel was a... More

My partner and i flew to melbourne on the red eye and had no sleep. We decided to drive to ballarat, we arrived at 8 tired and with nothing opened. We popped into comfort inn and had the pleasure of dealing with mark. He got us a room to sleep in for a few hours and sorted out passes to... More

A great place to stay - super friendly service with comfortable, clean and well appointed rooms. The gold rush period exterior masks the modern comfort from visitors eyes at Sovereign Hill but sets the scene of Ballarat's gold rush days. No traffic sounds - morning noises might only be roosters crowing in the distance in the living museum.
