Lovely friendly reception from the lady who owns the motel. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms clean and beds comfortable. Decor tired but this was a budget priced motel. Would stay again if in the area and would recommend to friends as budget priced accommodation.

We found the lady who owns this motel cannot do enough for you. She waited for us to arrive and made sure we were happy. Even suggested a great motel a short walk up the road called lazy moes and it was amazing. Nice and quiet up the back and nice and clean.

Beds and sheets weren't clean from previous guest as there was still hair on the sheets and pillow cases, one sink to share between bathroom and kitchen over all the whole room was outdated and grubby also the heating was not working and no forks in cutlery set. Whole stay even for one night pretty disappointing even for a budget... More

We have stayed here on a number of occasions, very helpful owners..Stayed in a family unit this time with our 6 year old son, lots of room to move, clean, serviceable rooms. Excellent parking, close to restaurants and good takeaways. We will continue to visit The Alfred again, Good value.

Not a good start reception couldn't find my booking, however they were able to give us a room, the rooms were tidy and beds fine, I was shocked to be charged $30 for my elderly mum sharing our room and using the single bed. We have stayed here sometime ago with the previous managers/owners? Since then the grounds have been... More

Not a good start. Reception couldn't "find" my payment of the first night, claiming they wouldn't have charged my visa card before we turned up. Luckily, they did find evidence of the prepayment and were very apologetic. The motel is on a main highway into Ballarat, but situated off on a parallel access road. During the night the traffic was... More

Pretty clean and semi comfortable beds but not set up for long stays for a family. Very outdated decor and bedding/towels. I'm glad I thought to bring our picnic set as there were only knives and teaspoons for cutlery and small plates, which were not very clean and not a lot of room for preparing food either. Only one basin... More

This was the last motel of our Holiday trip and although it looked a bit ordinary on the outside . the rooms were a surprise. The bed was the most comfortable of the whole trip. It is obvious the the owners are making an effort to update the rooms . The price was good and the rooms very clean and... More

If you want a clean, comfortable room but not resort style this is it. Reasonably priced with a pleasant garden outlook. We keep returning because it provides us with everything we need for a short stay.
