A great location in the centre of town (still quiet). A lovely restored grand old building. It has a bar and breakfast area. Our room was huge with a modern bed. No bath, but quite a nice bathroom. Tons of room and quite stylish and luxurious. Tea and pod coffee facilities in the room. No Foxtel TV Fancy restaurant right... More

Having not stayed here for some time it was great to see the new owners returning it to its past glory. The beautiful Victorian Hotel has just undergone a complete (and very tasteful) make-over that has rejuvenated life back into the boutique guesthouse. The rooms (we had a sweet) were very clean and accommodating to say the least. We had... More

We had lasted stayed at the Riversleigh 20 years ago and were delighted to find that this property is now once again in good hands. Our room was beautifully presented and comfortable, and we enjoyed our continental breakfast in the casual eating area. Clearly there's work still underway to have it humming perfectly, but things are heading in the right... More

My husband and I stayed at the Riversleigh in early January as part of a trip up the East Coast of Australia. The hotel underwent a renovation in late 2013 and is now a beautiful, faithfully restored victorian hotel with modern, clean rooms which retain the lovely character and feel of the place. The owner/managers were really helpful and had... More

This was a very pleasant overnight stop. Super comfy beds, linen new and funky, freshly painted room and spacious. Wonderful Victorian collection of terraces houses melded into a very stylish hotel overlooking the Mitchell river. Would suggest the owners have a sleep over in the rooms: some minor "didn't think about that " issues, such as no bed side tables,... More

This place is under new management so you can ignore old reviews. The new owners took over in October and have fixed the building beautifully. Clean and fresh. Lovely linen, new beds, terrific coffee machine in the room, some lovely period pieces of furniture but this is now very much a renovated classic. Best of all perhaps was Robyn, the... More

We stayed overnight at this great Victorian escape. Our room was in the main entrance builing on the top floor, large with a recently renovated modern décor, comfortable bed, large bathroom with great accessories like the Nespresso coffee machine goof for the for the coffee addicts, one which we shared in the downstairs parlour next to the fireplace overlooking the... If you are the sort of traveller that loves staying in a room that feels like the old Victorian times, old furniture and bed, old carpet, old bathroom with moldy walls and floors .... Then this is the perfect place for you. Otherwise, this is not recommended for you.

Style is heritage but in truth a little tired. Not as plus as it looks online. Plus point was John, who was receptionist, bar man and waiter! He was very friendly and gave us lots of good travel advice, both locally and with regard to our onward trip. He gets the establishment an extra star!

Last weekend, we stayed at the comfort inn Riversleigh and was a bit disapointed. It is the little things that let this accommodation down. It was a good price but the cord on the draw curtains was stretched and hanging down. The bed was really soft that you rolled into the middle. When you were in the bathroom, you could... More
