Very nice hotel, good breakfast. Great tea. Clean and tidy, the room is spacious, and warm in winter time. Robin is very helpful and kind. Definitely recommended. The team provided there is pretty good, and is a new brand.

Heading North from Melbourne, we decided to overnight in Bairnsdale and found this gem! It's in the last stage of a complete make-over by it's owner's and what a find it is. From the moment we talked to Rachel, we knew this was going to be a great experience, from being shown the two rooms available through sampling the beds,... More

I recently attended a workshop held at the Riversleigh and stayed overnight, the most spacious room I have ever been lucky enough to find that was so suitable. The bathroom was set out so that everything was easily accessible for my needs as someone travelling alone who uses a wheelchair all of the time. A big plus from my perspective... More

The Riversleigh hotel is situated in a beautiful renovated and decorated old building. The room was very comfortable, good bathroom facilities. The owner very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a continental one, simple, but enough to choose from. Good facilities to make coffee and tea in the room as well. The hotel is situated in the center of Bairnsdale... More

We stayed the weekend at the Riversleigh with an online voucher and we're delighted to be upgraded to one of their king rooms. The room was huge as was the comfy king size bed. The bathroom was nice and the room was nicely decorated. Breakfast was a simple continental one but there was plenty to eat. The location is good,... More

A mate and myself on a road trip unexpectedly needed accommodation in Bairnsdale - car breakdown - so I went to Trip Adviser. Found The Riversleigh. It came well-recommended and our experience only backed that up. My mate got a room in the house while I was put in the terraces next door. Mine was great - clean and roomy... More

A great location in the centre of town (still quiet). A lovely restored grand old building. It has a bar and breakfast area. Our room was huge with a modern bed. No bath, but quite a nice bathroom. Tons of room and quite stylish and luxurious. Tea and pod coffee facilities in the room. No Foxtel TV Fancy restaurant right... More

Having not stayed here for some time it was great to see the new owners returning it to its past glory. The beautiful Victorian Hotel has just undergone a complete (and very tasteful) make-over that has rejuvenated life back into the boutique guesthouse. The rooms (we had a sweet) were very clean and accommodating to say the least. We had... More

We had lasted stayed at the Riversleigh 20 years ago and were delighted to find that this property is now once again in good hands. Our room was beautifully presented and comfortable, and we enjoyed our continental breakfast in the casual eating area. Clearly there's work still underway to have it humming perfectly, but things are heading in the right... More

Our boutique 20 room hotel provides the perfect weekend getaway or corporate retreat. The Riversleigh is conveniently located near the central business district in Bairnsdale on a quiet street over-looking the Mitchell River. This historic hotel - an East Gippsland Icon, dates back to 1886. The Riversleigh (3 Victorian terraces) were renovated to their original elegance in 1987 and has recently undergone a major refurbishment to provide modern day comfort within the original elegant surrounds. High ceilings, plush linen, a picturesque setting and attentive service are just the first things you will notice upon your arrival at the Riversleigh. Three room options are available; Classic Queen, Deluxe King, & Executive Suites all offering private ensuites (two of which feature spa baths). Whichever you choose, you'll be impressed by the relaxed, warm feeling and the sense of history that pervades this 1880's mansion. ... more   less
