Thank u James for being welcoming and very helpful. First solo trip and felt very comfortable and relaxed. Very clean and fresh. Ended up staying 5 nights and loved third floor corner room with own balcony and expansive views. Very quiet spot but handy. Would definitely stay again. My Launceston friends were impressed too.

Was pleasantly surprised by this place. For its price, it's definitely way value for money. It's a private hotel and really looks like a giant guesthouse. Bathroom especially is spacious and the little extra heater in the room is very good for the chilly winter.

Stepping in to the Auldington was like stepping back in time, but with the luxury and comfort of a top class, modern hotel. This beautiful hotel has charm, comfort, serenity and luxury. It's a very short walk to lots of lovely cafes and restaurants, and yet is very peaceful and private. The beds were really comfortable and the rooms were... More

This has to one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The Owner/Manager could not be more pleasant or helpful. The hotel itself is located in what was the Nun's home, and has been extensively re-fitted. We booked direct and ended up in a room on the second floor with a side window and balcony; however we note... More

Nice place to stay when visiting Launceston , medium walk to main attractions in town. Old worldly place trying to be charming and comfortable. No onsite restaurant. BBQ in garden was available for modest fee,

We stayed in the Premium Executive Suite on the second floor with our two small children and we would highly recommend Auldington, it was nice to stay at a hotel that was historic but still had all the modern conveniences. Our suite was very spacious and extremely clean.

My wife and I, and another couple, commenced our visit to Tasmania at the Auldington, and our choice of accommodation for 3 nights was spot on. On arrival we were met by James, the enthusiastic Manager who told us all about our suites, and also gave great tips on what to see and where to eat locally. All the staff... More

My husband and I were most impressed with this beautiful old building turned into a very comfortable, friendly and efficient home away from home. We enjoyed our three days in Launceston very much thanks to James and his friendly staff, his hotel seems to run smoothly and efficiently. Room large and beutifully furnished, clean and extremelly functional, with all mod... More

I knew from previously read reviews that this place was going to be different. It's an elegant old mansion which has been perfectly restored. The well appointed rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable. The bathroom is clean and fitted with all the mod cons. Rooms have tvs, coffee and tea making facilities and include barista style coffee machine. Centrally located... More

This place has something about it that works. The shared veranda has charm - the rooms with high ceilings, airy and bright. The facilities were new and clean - a pleasant stay. Perhaps the proximity to the school for stays during the week is a downside for anyone wanting a sleep in. Reception was a little frosty also.
