A typical old fashioned Aussie pub near the heart of Launceston. Standard fare with Steak being their specialty. The place is clean but hasn't been updated in any way for years. Staff are polite but nothing special. Limited beer & wine list. The New York cut porterhouse shouldn't be on the menu if they tell you they can't cook it... More

We stayed only one night in deluxe room, which was recently renovated. Room was clean. There is a bath with the shower head which was not the best shower. You have to wash hands and face in the bedroom as bathroom doesn't have this facility. That night it was some party in restaurant below, our room was very smoke smelly... More

This is a decent hotel, clean with comfortable bed. However, we got room #7, which is the corner bedroom as you go up the stairs. The window gives right onto the main street. As we settle in that night, because it was warm, we kept our window a little bit open but could not handle the noise from the main... More

Lucky for me that I didn't read the reviews before I booked! The travel agent booked me in and when I got home and read the reviews I was expecting the hotel from hell. I had a room by myself back away from the main street and had no noise issues from traffic or from other customers. The room was... More

Don't expect this hotel to be anything flash - it isn't. It offers basic accommodation at a sensible price. Situated on the main road into/through Launceston it can be noisy but this would be dependent on where your room is within the building. The rooms are clean & comfortable. The bathroom is tiny with a shower over bath & the... More

Thought it would be nice to stay above a typical aussie pub when in Launceston but this place is not a pub! The dining room and the bar were closed. The rooms were incredibly noisey due to traffic and when I mentioned this to the staff they said "oh it'll settle down by night" - it did NOT! Ended up... More

As the title reads. If you desire a nice convenient place to stay at a very fair price, with very nice but tiny rooms, then you really must be accustomed to traffic noise or bring ear plugs. It's not really a pub, as the dining room & BAR are closed at the time of writing. My advice is...stay there but... More

I had expected a bit more reading a number of the reviews. The outside is run down, the parking area and the dark narrow stairs don't give a good first impression.. The room was clean but small and the hand basin was in the room making it appear smaller. The windows opened on to a very busy road and no... More

This is a very basic budget hotel but saying that the room was clean and the bed comfortable. You have coffee and tea available, soap and clean towels. Coles right across the road. Looks run down from the outside but the room was nice. No one on site most of the time but the lady at check in was very... More
