Me and my son went on a tour with the 'new world' tourist company. When we first arrived, the owner made us pay before we registered. When we first saw our room, we were shocked! Our room was dirty and disgusting! The next morning, we had breakfast. The advertisement said it was an all you can eat breakfast, but for... More

To start with there was no receptionist so I have to contact the owner from the phone located at the hotel front door because also there was No in room telephone. Very inconvenient . Along the way when I walked from the entry to the hotel room You can see spiderweb every where from outside the building to in side... More

Originally we were booked into a heritage room at the Waratah on York. On arrival the nice lady on duty gave us a choice of rooms either the old heritage style room which meant climbing several flights of stairs, or stay in the new modern section in the premises in front of the Waratah called Areca. We chose the latter... More

We were led to believe from the web site that this was a 4 1/2 star old world B &B....A big let down from the minute we arrived, into a very industrial looking back entrance up lots of stairs, an unfriendly and shabby front desk with a clerk who demanded we pay before checking in, which we found odd, but... We had decided to take a break and get away for a few days. In winter, in Tasmania, this is not always easy as a lot of businesses, particularly restaurants, close during winter. I have to say though that it is improving every year. That said I decided on Launceston in the North of the State as I knew we... More

We were placed in a lovely room with 2 beds in the newer building at the back. We were there for 5 nights and in the middle of winter we expected to be coldl. The beds were comfy and the room was nicely decorated and warm. The price included a continental breakfast with bacon and farm eggs. Sure it was... More

This property is located on a steep hill, with a very precarious driveway, if you don't like heights, like me, it can be pretty scary! We stayed in the 'honeymoon' suite, it was comfortable and did have dual showers and a spa in the attached 'day room'. The property has some oddities about it, like having to lug your luggage... Large old world room that was charming and very clean with comfortable bed. The only down side the TV impossible to operate as its directions are on Chinese. And no bed lamps so you can read. Makes for a quiet night. There is also no way of contacting reception after hours unless you go outside!
