I am not going to rate this hotel even though it was very nice with a good restaurant. The reason for the non rating is when we went down to organise internet access we were told that if we put in a good rating that day (had only been there 2 hours) we would receive free internet access the next... For the price of $70 it was a great hotel. Other reviews complain but what do you expect for a budget $70 hotel. Will Definatley stay again. Centrally located in the CBD. Rooms were basic. May need some minor updating with new fans and tvs.

This is a usual stop-off for a quick, cheap bite on the way to the airport. We ordered the Fisherman's Basket consisting of fish, calamari rings, prawn cutlets, chips and salad which were all fresh and of generous portion size. I enjoyed my vegetarian filo with pesto cream sauce, it was large and filling. The two seniors in our group,... More

I didn't stay in this place but went to the bar/bistro. Serves very good bar food. They are all decent tasting. Had the fish & chips and the fillet is quite dense with real meat. A good place to be if you're just looking to fill up your stomach.

We stayed at the Hotel Tas and for the price you pay, can't see what all the fuss is about. Rooms are oldish but they were clean. Staff were polite and chatty which is always nice when you are new in town. We ate in the restaurant downstairs and our meals were cheap(steak for $18) and were good. Would stay... More

This hotel is all about the location, not the room. All launceston city attractions are within a 10min walk which is fantastic and means you don't need a car unless you want to venture further. The airport shuttle will drop you off at the hotel and collect you from there when its time to leave. The room was spacious and... More

We stayed at Hotel Tasmania, and all I can say is, it is an absolute dump. The lamps don't work, the staff at the front bar (gaming room) were rude, and throughout the whole night, we got woken up with inside noises. Everything is outdated, the keyholes were bad as anything - the.night attendant even broke her master key off... More

All I asked for was a clean room at a cheep rate, I was not after anything special. Room had peanuts on floor beside bed for whole time I was there, four days even though it was serviced each day, would hire new cleaning staff. Water pipe leading to sink leaked forming a lake in bath/toilet space (too small to... More

Hotel is in a very central location. Rooms are small but clean and tidy - with two people would be a slightly cramped. No problem with noise when I stayed there. Staff were quite efficient and had no problem with leaving some luggage in storage after check out time while I was awaiting further transportation. I paid AUD 65 for... More

A friend and I stayed at this hotel for 1 night it was cheap so we were expecting the quality of the room to be average. It stunk like smoke and someone was outside vacuuming at 6am right near our room. The biggest disappointment was that after we had specifically driven out to the cheese and raspberry farms we left...
