We have stayed there for 3 nights and we were able to get a B&B package for a very reasonable price. Upon check-in we were given a Queen room, though we have requested for a twin double room as we were traveling with a baby. Anyhow they changed our room quickly without any hassle. Rooms are fairly spacious & clean.... More

Four of us stayed here for one night and the check in service was fast and efficient. This is an older hotel and it is quite dated. The rooms were neat and clean and quite spacious and the bathroom was also large and clean. Internet charges are expensive. It is an average hotel.

On a flying visit to Launceston we found it a little difficult to find convenient accommodation in the CBD. There is quite a bit of charming B&B in historical settings, but we were looking for a bit of value with good access. Many of the CBD offerings seemed to be entwined with cumbersome add-ons and spiraling prices. With the city... More

Good location but the hotel is very dated, it feels very old and tired. The room we stayed in was large with a large bathroom as well. I would recommend looking elsewhere for accommodation if you can. I didn't think it was very good value for money.

I stayed for one night in late May. The check-in was fast and efficient (despite it being rather busy). I had an older style room on the top floor, which despite its dated decor, was comfortable and spacious. My room rate included buffet breakfast which was a good, yummy selection. The only problem I had during my stay was being... More

Only in town for one night, with late check in/ early check out for a 6am flight, I booked this hotel based on previous stays and low online price offered. In reality though if you don't have a credit card and book through reception they charge an extra $13 for the privilege (at more than 10% that is pretty steep)... More

This is the first thing you will realize staying at the HGC Launceston rooms lack of lighting very dark the décor is fairly out dated this hotel lacks in all areas if you compare it to the HGC Hobart, although the staff were polite, there were stains on the carpets in the coridoors, the restaurant was empty so we opted out... We had expected a similar experience to the Hobart Grand Chanc. Unfortunately the reception was unenthusiastic, the bar had a handful of basic cocktails of which half were not available due to missing ingredients like olives - which surely the restaurant's kitchen would've had. The dinner menu lost all its appeal compared to the great eateries nearby. Parking was $6... More

We visitied the HGC Launceston again after enjoying it before. We actually booked for 3 nights on 2 seperate occassions in 1 week. This time we were a little dissapointed. I booked a Superior room and there wasnt much difference to the room I stayed in last time except the price. There is supposed to be better bed linen and... More

So outdated, in bad need of refurbishment. The old fountain sits right smack in the middle and its not working at all. The lifts were dirty looking but the rooms were not so bad except for the beddings and furnitures. The one big plus is the huge parking and the restaurants at the back. The surrounding area is dead at... More
