I have stayed at this hotel a few times over the years and have always had positive experiences. The hotel is well positioned within the town and has direct access to restaurants and shops. The rooms are spacious and the beds fairly comfortable. The decor is a little dated, but clean, quiet and functional. The restaurant and room service has... More

It has been several years since I have walked out of a hotel room in search of a better place, but recently this was the only option after booking a "reburbished" room on a Sunday eve as a walk in. My husband and I had just drove up from Hobart and were in search of a nice room for a... More

Yes lobby looks flash, staff are very well spoken. Rooms old and dusty. Buffet breakfast excellent. We stayed here for a work training in one of there conference rooms. It was booked for us. And from the out side looks great. Parking was rather $$$$

I stayed in the Hotel for a Girl's weekend with my Daughter in May 2014. We booked the twin double room, which was a little tired but comfortable at this time of year. I would not recommend in the summer, the only cooling was a free standing unit. The bathroom was large and had heaps of counter space for all... More

Be careful where your room is, as there's a very noisy night club next door, and the banging of the bed room front rooms doors early and late is very noisy and annoying.Door closers would help. As patrons leave the night club keep your window closed.

Booked this through one of the on-line deals for a special night away with my husband. Even opted for the upgrade to the "recently" refurbished rooms. Price was $203 for the one night for the two of us including breakfast for two and parking in the parking lot next door. Firstly check-in was fairly quick - they tried to charge... More

I was here for one night in a nicely refurbished room. The room was comfortable and the window opened (something I like). Everything worked well, even though it is an old property with an odd looking cooling unit in the room. My only minor gripe was that it was hard to turn on the shower due to the location of... More

Room was more than sufficient for my needs. Bed was comfortable, pillows were medium to soft and room was clean although the bathroom was a little tired. Well situated and walking distance to some good restaurants.

We were looking for somewhere for a longer business stay in Launceston and the Hotel Grand Chancellor offered extremely competitive rates through the Entertainment Book. The room we had was spacious, clean with two comfortable double beds and good work space. We had problems with water pressure in the shower one night and reception immediately swapped our room with offers... More

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of our 2 week Tasmanian road trip. Our room at the front of the hotel on the 3rd floor and clean and spacious. There was a large bench for suitcases adjoining the bathroom which was great. We had a package which included breakfast and parking which was excellent value. The buffet breakfast... More
