Only spent one night at the beginning of our first visit to Tasmania but what a good introduction . Staff were very helpful and dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were peasant experiences Tried the local wine and seafood as recommended by our waiter and thoroughly enjoyed both. Room was all we could have asked for, quiet, clean and comfortable.... More

We were booked into a recently renovated room on the 14th floor, which was nice. The bathroom is very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable as well as all the in-room amenities. However, they have failed to informed us that the hotel is still undergoing the said renovations, instead of looking out the window and see the street view... More

Our third visit to this Hotel. We've only had pleasant experiences. The staff have always been very helpful. On one of our visits our daughter was sick and we were given lots of extra towels and a late check out with no extra charge which we found very helpful. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The location... More

I must say I am totally unimpressed with this hotel, not for its service and not for the staff's attitude. Our stay here was part of a trip to Tasmania to tour the length and breath of Tasmania. when we checked in, the staff was so unfriendly and unhelpful. The room we were assigned to was just ok, ok but... More

This hotel is unfortunately very dated and is need of renovations. I think the price is too high for the quality of the room and service provided. Room did not even have a proper air-conditioner and did not feel very clean or kept in good order. Only positive is great location to boags brewery and shops.

Very disappointing. We were on a 10 day holiday around Tasmania and have sampled many nice hotels, but this was not up to scratch at all. Nice lobby, tired room, lumpy mattress. Two phones in room, one just ornamental? No up to date TV guide and no free wifi to google. Hard to use TV remote and could not hear... More

Great hotel. Warm , friendly staff. Great location. It's 5 minutes from the shopping area and a ten minute walk to the wharf. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Book before you dine and you get it cheaper.

We were put into this hotel after it's sister hotel Quest overbooked. Although we booked 3 months in advance, we were OK with the change. The entrance to the Grand is indeed grand. It's an old world hotel with old world service. I'm not sure if reception thought we were not legitimate guests as we came from the Quest but... More

Once again this hotel has been a fantastic place to stay. Staff on front desk very helpful with making a last minute booking at Christmas time. The lounge bar is no longer at the hotel which is very unfortunate but there is a small bar near the restaurant. Rooms are spacious and very clean. On Saturday the Harvest Farmers Market... More

Stayed in this for two nights. The foyer was quite impressive and nice. The room was clean but the strange heating unit was not easy to operate. A revamp should brighten up the room and be an opportunity to install more power points and change the bath taps. Buffet breakfast was adequate with hot and cold food. The mushrooms were... More
