This is a very beautiful hotel with friendly staff, right in the heart of Launceston. The rooms are very quiet, have modern bathrooms and comfortable beds which come with a pillow menu. This hotel appeared to have done the absolute barest minimum to claim a 4.5 star rating. I was debating between it and the Mecure hotel on Wotif.com but went with the 2 night special at the Colonial. I stayed here with a party of friends and the room was lovely and clean. But the nicest part about this hotel was the attitude and helpfulness of the staff. We were very pleased with the room and felt very fortunate that we were able to stay there. Great experience! more
