The hotel was good value to use in Launceston before and after the hiking tours in Cradle Mountain. The building is a former bakery and the old time furniture, artwork and knickknacks take you back to earlier days. Most of the rooms have some stairs to negotiate so if you are traveling heavy, you may want to ask for a... More

Have stayed here twice. Its central and you can dump the car for a day or two. Rooms have a bit of an old world theme (don't be surprised if the beds a four-poster) which adds to the experience. It's clean and everything works. The Jail House Grill is just up the road and this adds to the package for... More

Very charming accommodation which is very well renovated from an old bakery. My room in particular was very large and spacious and well furnished. Location in town was also very good. BUT, what should have been a pleasant memory of a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at this establishment was horribly spoiled by a decidedly unpleasant incident with Alan, the... More

I had read reviews, but was extremely disappointed with this accommodation, our room was dull and dreary, needed all lighting on a very sunny day,and as it is located on a busy intersection, also very noisy. The Female staff were courteous but the one male staff member we delt with was rude and arrogant. With all the fabulous accommodtion in... More

Just a couple of blocks walk from the main town centre, lovely room, a really good rate and very friendly staff. We'd stayed in many places in Launceston before but this place was by far the best value for money and great quality too.

For me on arrival this lodging house or motel really looked disappointing, however on close inspection and having stayed one night it worked well for us. We stayed in room 12 which is off the courtyard, which was nice and quiet. The location is very close to the CBD on a busy corner with traffic lights and opposite and adjoining car... More

I spent two nights here at end Dec and beginning Jan as my arrival and departure were from Launceston (had a friend's wedding in Deloraine). Great place to stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful, reasonably priced, good location to the city and sights (walking distance) and very comfortable. I loved the maze of rooms with passageways and stairs. Gave... My daughter and I spent one night there. Ground floor, spotless, twin beds, ac/heat, nice bathroom with hair dryer, soap & shampoo, fluffy white towels (hey, this detail is a treat when otherwise you tend to stay in hostels :D ); coffee and tea amenities, TV, small fridge, spacious.....within a lovely 'old fashioned' decor (not old though!)...Pick a room on garden/terrace side... My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night to break up our journey from freycinet to cradle mountain. The inn is quite large but you would never know it from the intricate layout of the house. Rooms very very nice, decorated in an old style but with a modern bathroom. There is an enclosed balcony which we enjoyed. Breakfast... More
