We stayed at the Clarion for 2 nights and had an enjoyable stay. Good sized room and room safe and free hotel parking. The hotel also has a restaurant and room service until 9pm. Walking distance to Cataract Gorge which we highly recommend. Nearby, we dined at Cateract on Paterson (dinner) and Stillwater (breakfast) which we would also recommend if... More

Stayed 3 nights in a Deluxe room. Perfect for solo accommodation. Vert quiet and comfortable. Hotel staff polite, friendly and helpful. Free daily paper. Deluxe rooms (in my opinion) would best suit business or solo travellers wanting to explore further afield. Practically next to City Park, right next to Boags Brewery, short walk Boardwalk (Tamar River Cruises leave from this... More

We stayed here twice during our trip through Tasmania. The first time we were located in the main building and the second time in the Stables. Both rooms were very nice, although the room in the Stables was substantially bigger, both the room itself and the bathroom. Our room in the main building was much more compact and the bathroom... Stayed here on Boxing night 2014 with another couple at the start of our Tassie trip. Originally named the "Dorset Tavern" it was built in the mid 1850’s & has been renovated extensively into a boutique type hotel with some old features retained and mixed with more modern designs as well. The rooms were very clean with Tea & Coffee... More

We were in Launceston, Tasmania in December 2014 for our holiday. We stayed in Hotel City Park Grand on two separated occasions; one on our arrival and the other before our departure for Sydney. It was an exhilerating experience and we enjoyed our stay there. It's affordable and yet luxurious, though it's rated as a 4-star hotel. Its nonedescript exterior... More

Two night stay with children in a family room in the stables, 2 queen beds. Clean, well presented and beds so comfortable. Great location, close to everything, off street car parking and quiet. The restaurant Larceny was certainly worth it, cater to children beautifully and service was fantastic all round. highly recommended, we will be back.

Short visit to Launceston on way back to Sydney over New Year. Reception very helpful. Room in Stables section out back highly recommended. Nice and quiet. Bed comfy. Bathroom and facilities all very good. Walking distance to all key attractions. Restaurant called Larceny was very good.....recommend the duck for mains. Would stay again.

Big comfortable beds and rooms. Lovely old building, fully restored, with free WIFI. We stayed on the top floor, very quiet rooms, minimal disturbance and noise from other guests. We arrived early, our bags were stowed and receptionist gave us a map with suggested attractions. Very friendly, helpful and professional. Everything has been thought about including toiletries in the bathroom,... More

This is our third time staying here and still happy. Pay the extra and try the deluxe spa rooms and while you arae there give the restaurant a look as well. Close enough to the city and Aurora stadium
