I paid $129 for a standard room which included 2 continental breakfasts. Lovely, clean, classy room. The floors were very creaky - I assume this was to do with being such an old building. Some other guests were extremely loud & walking past our room, we could hear all their conversation. The cleaner opened the door at 9.30am when check... more

Booked via wotif for a deluxe room at $130 for one night. Was given room 34 - told "its a nice quiet room". I am assuming she meant that it didn't get any road noise- which it didn't - however, it was not a nice quiet room at all. The walls must be paper thin, as we could hear the... more

I was looking for a boutique hotel for a romantic weekend. This hotel is so far off the mark. Beyond the exterior, this is on a par with any bog standard business hotel anywhere in the world. The rooms have no character whatsoever. Also internet site is deceptive - much use photography from the roman baths - this hotel has... more

We had one night in Room 48(ground floor) which was a Spa Suite and our car was parked right near our door. Surprisingly very quite location. Room was good size, including a chesterfield lounge, so plenty of space. Bathroom excellent in size and spa was great. But the best part was the bed and pillows....the very, very best and most... more

Wonderful welcome from helpful staff, Phyllis, Anne and everybody. Beautiful rooms with every amenity one could imagine form fluffy bathrobes and slippers and welcome packs. All rooms seemed brand new and stylishly furnished. The restaurant was brilliant, with Chef Tom and Maitre'd Uri ,I think, making it the best place in Launceston to dine. Fantastic value and service..Should be upgraded to... more

This hotel is really lovely - the rooms are modern and clean with every convenience. The staff are helpful and friendly. The location is great, just a short walk from the city centre and across the road from Boag's Brewery. There is free parking. We got a good deal on wotif.com for one night. There is no street noise whatsoever.... more

after reading trip advisor hotels reviews on Launceston, my wife and I decided to stay here for two nights, and were very glad we did. The hotel had an "olde world" charm about it, with nice modern touches. The friendly staff were very helpful when we arrived to check in, and our room was spacious, neat and clean, on the... more

We had booked the hotel through a travel agent and had not looked at their website. Our previous 7 nights had been in very large plush hotels in Cairns and Sydney and we had built up expectations of "City Grand" being of similar size and grandeur. Although we were not excessively late in arriving - possibly around 9 pm we... more

We (my wife and 2 kids aged 14 and 11) stayed at The City Park Grand hotel for 1 night as we were touring around Tasmania. However, after seeing the room that we had allocated to us, we wish our stay would have been longer. We were in Room 46. Check-In: Very quick and the staff very friendly and helpful.... more

This hotel was our cheaper option on our itinerary so we didnt have high expectations. What a lovely surprise! There is an old worldly opulence about it. Staff were extremely good - always helpful and really good all round service. The rooms were beautiful, furnished in dark timbers, shower was one of the best we had and the best beds... more
