Though it is slightly outside of Launceston, it is still only a 5 minute walk to the center of town. Everyone here was very nice, though it seemed most of the guests were here for working holiday and weren't terribly interested in exploring. The staff was friendly and helpful. The facilities were decently clean though a little worn down. 5... More

I stayed in the hostel for 2 months whilst I worked on a nearby farm, during this time I was well looked after and made to feel right at home. The friendly staff are full of advice and always ready to help. The facilities and rooms are up to standards. They even made a free barbecue for my birthday! As... More

Nice old building, I liked the wooden floors, old interior, made it feel a bit more like home. I hadn't a booking and got a private room at really reasonable price. The room was nice with a desk and a chair, also a heater in the room if you feel too cold to sleep. Free wi-fi did work at first... More

In putting 5* you have to remember this review is for a hostel not a hotel. The place was well priced, clean, tidy and everything you need is available, it's also in a great location to be able to acces Launceston. The thing that really made it great though was the guys that ran it. The two owners/managers (?) Were... More

I stayed in this hostel for around 2 months whilst working in Launceston. The staff are (well were when I was there) very friendly, helpful and always chatty and happy. The rooms are spacious and the beds are pretty comfortable. There is free wifi (but the hostels computer didn't work while I was there), the kitchen is not the best... More

I would've stayed at another backpackers in town I'd been to before, but seeing it was Friday night, that place (although nice and a lot cheaper) is above a pub and I had to be up at 4:30am for a flight, so I opted for the Arthouse hoping I'd get more sleep. I stayed in a private room so I... More

Receptionist very friendly and accomodating, 6 bed dorm had nice balcony access, bathroom facilities clean renovated to modern standards, Wifi was hard to access from dining room sofas so had to sit at lobby area where everyone coming in and out (not sure if wifi can be accessed from the rooms), location a bit far from central launceston

I've been to better hostels in the middle east and certainly cleaner kitchens. I wonder how often there is a health inspection of this place as my photos show open rubbish bins in the kitchen and an electric bug killer not working on the wall. Holes in the ceiling and just a place I'm not happy to cook food in.... More

everything worked fine with them leaving the keys for us as we arrived late when nobody from the reception was still there. rooms are very small (we stayed at a 6 bed female dorm) especially considering everybodys bringing quite a big suitcase or backpack. Toilet and bathroom facilities were really nice and clean. The one dark haires guy at the... More

We stayed here for 1 night in a double private room. We met one guy who worked there (Graham I think his name was) and he was very friendly and helpful. We had a car and 2 bikes so parking was easy and free right out the front of the building and we could bring our 2 bikes and keep... More
