Booked through agoda.com. Room described as small standard room, and it was very small. Even the bath towels were not much bigger than a hand towel. Confectionary in the room was past its 'use by' date. The bonus with this motel is it is close to the Blue Lake and is in a quiet area with very little traffic noise.... More

This motel is good value for what is on offer. best views in mount Gambier, quiet without the traffic noise of the other motels in town. Large rooms and the staff are very welcoming. There are more updated motels but none have this location and once again for the price you pay is good.

I managed to get a room at very short notice as the other motel I had booked in Mt Gambier was so awful that I refused to stay there. The staff at the Lakes were very helpful and welcoming, and I loved the view over the town from my room. It's the only motel in town that's quiet (all the... More

After arriving at an apartment and finding it disgusting we managed to book into this beautiful resort which is very close to the blue lake. The staff could not do enough to help and make the disaster we had turn into a delight. From the room to the food coupled withe the fantastic service it was a winner for us... More

It wasn't the flaky paint around the bathroom door frame, nor the smoke burn in the hand basin that bothered me. I was even willing to ignore the poor reviews on trip advisor; that was until the blaring sounds of 'go grease lighting' infiltrated my room at 10.30pm keeping me from much needed sleep after an 8hour journey. The Lakes... More

I recently had a role for 9 months which required me to go to mt gambier every 2 - 3 weeks. On my first trip I just googled accommodation, found this resort which sounded nice and booked myself in. My first clue was when I got to the place and the sign out the front said "Lakes Resort Motel." This... More

Hi Sassimo123, Thank you for your feedback. We understand where you are coming from with the whole "not a resort" comment. We know we are NOT a resort, but we inherited the name when I purchased the motel, and it unfortunately isn't an easy, straight forward task to change your Business name. Kind Regards, Val More

I have stayed at the Lakes Resort many times and did again this week. Mine was a business trip however I would stay there if I was in Mt Gambier on vacation of if just passing through. The hotel overlooks the town and is close to the Blue Lake; which has a walking track for some exercise. The room is... More

My husband booked us the excecutive suite with corner spa as a suprise for my birthday. We were both happy with the size of the room, the cleanliness and the view. On the down side the rooms are very dated and need a revamp especially for the price. The do need to put in new hot water systems in the... More

We were looking forward to some nice accommodation and brought breakfast supplies with us only to find that there was no way to heat anything up. Not even the basics such as a toaster or microwave were available. The bed was one of those beds that throws everyone together in the middle of the bed unless you cling to the... More

Dear Andrea C, We are sorry we did not meet your standards during your stay with us. I will however point out that we are a motel room and not a self contained room that allows toaster, microwave etc due to fire laws. If you had of asked, we would have kindly explained this to you while you were here.... More
