My husband and I stopped over in mount isa. Came to the local pub to watch football. The staff where very friendly at the bar. We had a nice stay I'm not sure why everyone on the reviews said stay away. ..we are Grey nomads. No problem with the locals

Avoid. This place is a dive. 3ks out of town, limited facilities, rowdy pub next door with drunks falling out of it. When we stayed here 2 all-in brawls on 2 separate occasions. Old and dated. Old and musty. drive in motel style stay. AVOID

Let's start with the positives! Great food in the pub, top class surf and turf and garlic prawns & rice, top beer and very friendly staff. The motel is very dated and is probably best suited to emergency stays rather than planned stops. All the same I stayed here a night and it wasn't too bad. The pub made up... More

Went there for a drink mid afternoon and returned for dinner that night. On the day we went the music in the bar was way too loud and we were going to leave but noticed the dining lounge next door which was much better. The service was friendly and like most places the staff seemed to be backpackers so were... More

The hotel itself had a lot of conveniences close by like a pub, restaurant, bottle shop and a butcher and supermarket (which while we were there had shut down). We had booked a "family room" but when we got to the room there was no bathmat, face washer, only towels. There was no plates, bowls or glasses, they only catered... More

This place looks like a step back to the seventies or even earlier with the only updated feature being the tv. The rest hasn't been maintained for decades. The balcony door does not fully close and there is a 1 cm gap in the door from all the break ins over the years as apparently the location is known for... More

Coming from Longreach we picked the first hotel in Mount Isa which looked ok from the outside. No staff present only arriving after a phone call. Price was AUD 115,--. We didnot check the room first and that was a mistake. Small, not clean, loud music from the adjacent room and a dirty terras with cigarets butts all over. Don't... More
