I recently stayed at Mackay Grande Suites for work and it was excellent. The room was a one bedroom apartment large living area, clean and functional. I attended a seminar at the hotel and the staff, service and presentation of the venue was excellent. Dirty martinis downstairs was the most beautiful bar I'd seen in Mackay in a along timeand... I sourced this hotel on Wotif and got a great deal on a 1 bedroom apartment-style unit. It was extremely large, well appointed, very clean and modern. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. It's an easy walk to restaurants and shops in the main precinct of Mackay. It's easy to get to from the airport if you are flying in.... More

This hotel is expensive, however, if you are staying in Mackay and interested in heading out on the town, then this is the hotel to choose. If you stay elsewhere and happy to walk at night you will certainly get a better deal. A taxi would probably close the distance on the extra money you pay for convenience. Bed was... More

I arrived at the hotel and was greeted by the friendly staff. It was a warm friendly foyer and was well lit. I was given a room on the 3rd floor. The room had a separate toilet and bathroom with a large living area. I was there for work and was glad that along with a sitting area for watching... More

My wife and I stayed here to experience the most expensive hotel in Mackay. To put it simply what a waste of time and money. The room was a decent and bed was nice, but all of that was lost as soon as the shower and the bath tub are combined. Who in their right mind thought that was a... More

I had to travel almost 3 hours from our remote town to Sarina. It was late when we had to leave so we decided to stay in Mackay for the night. It's safer than dodging Kangaroos in the twilight. We have stayed at MGS before and often paid a lot less than the asking price of $259 for one weeknight,... More

We have stayed at the Marina the last three times we have been to Mackay and will make our new habit right here. Priced well with very generous sized rooms, we had a one bedroom apartment which had separate bedroom, lounge, dining and kitchen with laundry facilities. I know its tragic but I get very excited about going home with... More

We stayed here June 2013, found everything to be very good in general...good size rooms, clean and tidy...seemed a little bit pricey but everything in Mackay is, so all in all we were very happy....restaurants were all very good, location central to everything...AM Bar downstairs had live music both nights and was a nice place for drinks...Dirty Martinis also nice... I travel alot around many parts of AU and chose to stay at MGS based on Tripadvisor. I found the room to be highly overpriced and attribute that to "just another town to take obscene advantage over its location to mining". The King Suite was 50% darer than other studio rooms that I have stayed in. Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide... More
