We recently travelled to Mackay for a family function and spent three nights at this motel which is now called the Mackay Resort Motel. It is located on Nebo Road, where the majority of motels are located in Mackay, a couple of kilometres from both the city centre and airport. As we were travelling with children and wanted to self cater we booked a family room which is described as having basic cooking facilities. Our room contained a queen bed, and two single beds separated by a bathroom that contained a vanity, toilet and shower but no bathtub which would have been appreciated especially for bathing children. We also had a small table and three chairs, and the usual kettle, bar fridge and toaster. Although we appreciated the microwave oven which was provided on request, there was no cutlery or crockery in the room apart from coffee mugs and teaspoons, and no sink, hotplate etc. The room was clean, and extra towels were provided on request.
