My husband and I recently stayed in one of the Acacia rooms at Binna Burra Lodge and had one of the most wonderful long weekends away. The staff are the incredibly friendly and helpful. On the last day my husband was feeling poorly and with just a mention of this the reception staff organised a freshly made lemon honey and... more

I have just returned home from a fantastic stay at the Binna Burra Mountain Lodge. We stayed in an acacia room which had a lovely view over the Hinze dam and Gold Coast. We had such a relaxing time, catching up with much needed R& R. We really enjoyed the complementary cheese platter at 5.30pm while watching the beautiful sunset.... more

On a trip last month to Australia, we almost cut out this portion of the trip, based on Trip Advisor reviews of Binna Burra. What a mistake that would have been! Yes, Binna Burra cabins need updating, but the location and hiking are just glorious. And the meal service was much tastier than we expected, and a fairly good value.... more

Binna Burra is one of the world's best places in my opinion. Set amidst the incredibly beautiful rainforests of the Lamington National Park only a stones throw from the Gold Coast. With no competition nearby the 'resort' owners (a committee of hundreds) have little incentive to improve things and the rooms continue to deteriorate. They are grossly overpriced for what... more

Binna Burra is a special bit of Australia, it is located high on the disected cone of a volcano, rainforest below. We 5 stayed in an old slab cabin, not 5 star by any means but it was clean, although the interior a bit dated and tired. The mozzie screens needed repairs and we had a big hastle on our... more

We stayed at Binna Burra Mountain Lodge during part of our honeymoon to Oz in November 2008. We drove up to the mountains from Surfers Paradise where we had stayed the night before so were a little sad to leave behind the sunshine and head up into the damp cold clouds of Lamington National Park -but the views are stunning... more

We recently stayed at Binna Burra for a romantic weekend, and I have to say it was so much better than I imagined. The 'rustic' cabin we atyed in was original from when the place opened. this is what gave our stay such an authentic feel. Staff were really friendly, especially a lady called Noeline, who was very well presented... more

I stayed with family in one of the Euphrasia lodges. The furnishings were drab and needed updating. No tv, no phones; can be great for some people but for people with kids (especially when its cold and raining) it would be handy. The kitchen was pokey and could use a small microwave. The family I was with had a baby... more

We stayed at both Binna Burra and O'Reilly's. Binna Burra is more laid back, less pretentious and less crowded. Also the road in is not quite as scary! Both offer excellent hiking / wildlife viewing opportunities. One difference is that at Binna Burra, handfeeding the wildlife is discouraged, whereas at O'Reilly's it is encouraged. You really earn your wildlife views... more

We stayed (2 adults and 2 children) over New Year. The location and accommodation were very attractive and the staff friendly and helpful. The big disappointment was the food and this overshadowed our entire visit. Not only was it unimaginative (eg. dry pizza as the vegetarian option) but it was also at times badly cooked. My daughter found her chicken... more
