We booked into the Metro because we had a one night stop over in Gladstone before catching the boat to Heron Island. The hotel is conveniently located for that purpose and does have some shops and places to eat within walking distance. When booking, I was shocked at the prices for all of the hotels in Gladstone, I never did... More

Don't turn up in Gladstone and expect to find a room, Metro is old, but clean and that is what matters to me when I am away from home. Very friendly staff and manager that makes it easy to stay here. Just remember to book in well ahead. Everything in Gladstone gets booked out due to the mining and gas... More

We have been to this hotel several times and were, in the past, fortunate to get an upgraded room. This trip we were placed in one of the old, tired and rather ordinary rooms. The price of the room did not reflect the standard. Hotels in Gladstone are now at the price level of Sydney. I feel the hotel owners... More

It was a shock. The apartment and its fittings was at least 30 yrs old and that applies to the amount of dust and grime (and possibly mould??) accumulated in the apartment. Some of the appliances provided was very old, the socket on the wall was not working and the unclean kettle did not look usable (frankly, i did not... More

Gladstone is the launching point to get to Heron Island. We didn't spend too much time there. The motel was comfortable and the price was fair. The location was convenient to the airport and the Ferry. I would stay again. More

Considering this is a fairly old Hotel and a bit dated we found it to be lovely and clean with spacious rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. Our party of 4 adults booked and stayed 2 nights in Marina View 1 bedroom apartments, both on the 5th floor @ $155.00 per night which seemed a little bit expensive for... More

I stayed here for a few days with my wife and 2 kids. The manager Kerry was exceptionally friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home and welcome. We stayed in a very spacious 2 bed/ 2 bathroom apartment on the 6th floor with glorious views of the harbour and surrounds and all the massive industrial plants with... More

We stayed in the Metro for one night on route to Heron Island. The hotel's location is ideal for anyone needing to depart from the Marina. The hotel staff were very friendly and the two room apartment we booked was exceptional value and very comfortable. We had our evening meal and breakfast in the hotel restaurant. This offered a good... More

After a terrible experience in a Rockhampton hotel we decided to break our journey at Gladstone instead on our way back down the coast. Gladstone hotels are apparently quite busy during the week so we were lucky to get a room at the Metro with only a few days notice for $145. Credit card details were required to secure the... More
