Hotel is ok. It has been around for a long time and is in need of a bit of attention. Furniture is nice and appears to be newish, however the bath contained rust and the shower head needed replacing. When we arrived, they didn't have our booking. I showed them my booking confirmation on my phone, although it wasn't a... More

Rooms were mostly clean and tidy. Late check in was no problem. Breakfast was included with our deal, and was a buffet style breakfast which was okay. Staff were polite and nice. The rooms (and hotel overall) were a bit dated, but otherwise fine. Especially the bathrooms. It had a very 1980s businessy feel to it. The in-room bar items... More

This hotel is very tired and worn out. And clearly has poor management, as the staff are lack luster (if you can find a staff member - it is a ghost town of a hotel). This is an old hotel and well overdue for a major refurbishment, not the coat of paint they are currently throwing around the outside of... More

Rydges Gladstone, as other reviewers have noted, has definitely seen better days. I recall it in its previous incarnations (e.g., many years ago as the Country Comfort, I think) and it is certainly not quite what it was. The room itself was fine enough and the bed very comfortable, although the bathroom was pretty tatty and looks like it hasn't... More

Dear Read_my_mind, It is pleasing you enjoyed our Rydges Dream Bed and found the rooms comfortable. It is also pleasing you took advantage of our free WIFI and parking. In regards to the service you received in the bar, I have addressed this with the team, and I am confident it has been resolved moving forward. I know that this... More

Very disappointed would be a understatement ! Service is definitely not a priority and it is hard to find someone let alone someone who is friendly or willing to help. We had to get a refund on our buffet breakfast as there was only a purple of chipolatas some baked to long beans and all full of flies. Absolute disappointment... More

We are travelling up the cost w. group of 28. This should have been One of the nicest hotels but instead construction started at 7am. We work nights so don't appreciate not being advised. There were a few other things te the service that made the visit very average!!

Dear Margot2011, I am pleased to say the repair work on the building has now been completed. I do apologise for the work starting so early, and this was addressed once it occurred, as we had certain time frames in place for construction to begin and finish. Sincerely, Edward Brennan More

With 3 adults and 3 kids, makes it difficult to find suitable accom at times. We had 2 bedroom apartment with plenty of room for the two rollaway beds as well. Although the beds weren't set up in the room when we arrived, the girl at reception managed to get it all sorted quickly.

Dear Happycampers4702, I am pleased that you enjoyed our 2 bedroom apartment which is definitely convenient for children, as it is located on our lobby floor near the restaurant and pool. I hope we will see you again soon! Kind Regards Edward Brennan More

I was disappointed for the less than the price I paid I could have stayed in a newer hotel. The restaurant although the meals were ok there was very little choice. It cost me more than last time I stayed and my room was worse and looked onto the street! I don't think I will stay here again.

Stayed here one night for business. The hotel is centrally located in town so easy to walk to bars and restaurants. The room had some modern touches but covered up a tired bathroom with a shower over an old bath and a shower curtain. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. A very large mini bar... I've stayed here on and off for the last 20 years under its various names. Always convenient to the centre of town. Parking is good as is the service. Always found the restaurant a little expensive for dinner or breakfasts but convenient. Rooms average and clean. They also now have "studio" rooms out the back across the street in a... More
