The motel itself is a good step above the backpackers accommodation in Bundaberg. The rooms are well equipped - TV, fridge, kettle, AC, comfortable double bed, a good sized bathroom with towels etc. The location is very central, parking is available, there's also a decent pool out the back. However, the thing that made this motel excellent was the lovely... More

stayed one night in this clean basic accommodation where some room are accessed by a cement staircase. there is a toaster and kettle and fridge - our fridge was in very bad condition on the outside but ok on the inside. there was 2 cups but no plates and only one spoon. the bathroom was a strange set up in... This Motel is typical older stock but it is centrally located. We had booked it as a convenient stop-over on a long holiday down Australian's East Coast. Parking - excellent under cover parking with security lighting in place. Room - The bed was fine and generally the room was satisfactory apart from the fridge. I have attached photographs of the... We stayed here for 3 nights and found the room quite acceptable - spacious and comfortable. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. A bit of a drawback was the 2 sets of steps up to the motel rooms as we are senior people. Saturday night was quite noisy all night out on the street but the other nights were... More

Stayed here in a family room for three nights. The motel is in great location walking to city centre, the room we stayed in was large, spotlessly clean and had good free Internet. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone who wants good value place to stay near city.

We had a ground floor room. Very small, dark (dark brick walls), bathroom shower door didn't close all the way - hence water over entire bathroom floor (and guess what?) no floor mat so we had to use one of our towels to sop it all up! There is mold growing on the shower door. The pillows were like rocks.... More

Our ground floor room was very small and basic, but clean. Apparently the upstairs room are more luxurious, but my husband was not able to climb the two sets of steep stairs to reach them. The TV reception fluctuated and we were never able to connect into the free wifi, even though it was reset in the office. The air... More

Decided to use this Motel as a sleep stop on our way home from Cairns. Pleasant drive from highway and very pleased by country style town. Motel was old style but perfect, clean and inviting. Service was tops, lay out of the room good and if I had to pick a negative it would be the sanitizer smell in the... More

I booked this motel because of the turtle-tour accomodation package: it was the only way to join a turtle tour if you're alone without a car. When I arrived they told me the turtle season was already finished and they had tried to advice me before I came, sending me an e-mail I didn't received. I asked them to see... More

Matilda offers convenience and value for money. It lacks ambience in a big way but if what you're looking for is a centrally located, very clean room for a night or two, well this is the property. Our room had Queen bed, single bed, shower cubicle, bar fridge, hair dryer, kettle and cups with tea and coffee supplies, microwave (but... More
