My wife and I stayed at the Wollongong IBIS on Saturday night, 18.4.09. We have stayed there on several occasions and done other reviews. Check in: As usual check in was carried out in a very nice manner by pleasant staff. We got the room we asked for up high and fairly quiet. Room: Basic and compact but very clean... more

I only stayed at the Ibis because the Novotel was booked out for the Australia Day long weekend. Paying a good rate I found online, and only going to there to sleep, shower and watch TV I wasn't expecting much.....espeically for a 3 star motel. On arrival (just before 2pm), the receptionist curtly told me almost straight away that my... more

The hotel is situated in the centre of Wollongong and within close walking distance of all shops and a large Mall. Also has secure parking which was good to see, as not all hotels have this. It came at a small cost of A.$10 The only thing I could say against this hotel is that the rooms are very small... more

The Hotel Ibis in Wollongong was quite an ordinary experience if not mildly stressful. Upon arriving at the check-in desk I was served by an annoyed-looking staff member who’s attitude to my request for a late check-out with the Accor A/Club loyalty programme was short & to the point, that the late 4pm check-out “didn’t apply to Accor’s cheap hotel’s”... more

Dear Genghis Kwan , Thank you for your post in relation to your stay at our hotel. I am saddened to read your stay here was " ordinary" , your constructive comments bring to my attention potential areas for development within our front office department .There is no excuse for front office appearing disintrested and for this I can only...

I had unfriendly encounter with the booking through the phone. the male staff at the other end treated you like an idiot really. maybe it was a late night around 10o'clock, too tired to speak nicely, when i asked would i need 2 rooms to accommodate my 2 kids, he speaks sarcastically "if you want to stay in this hotel,... more

This room was arranged by a work colleague and was clean, neat, a bit smallish but interestingly quirky... my room was very modern and overlooked an old churchyard. Loved the opening windows in the room and the louvres in the foyer. The hotel location is only a minute's stroll to the shopping mall and despite being solo, felt very safe.... more

I stayed here for 1 night while on a business trip in Australia. Overall, I'd give the hotel high marks in all areas except one: the room was very small, which surprised me at how small it was (I had to turn my suitcase sideways to get it around the bed to the other side. It was fine for 1... more

We live in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney but were travelling to Wollongong for a Keith Urban concert (about 2 hours by car). We chose the Ibis for an overnight stay. We could not fault the hotel. It is centrally located to everything we needed. We parked the car (yes, it is $10, but worth it for the convenience)... more

Stayed two nights at the Hotel Ibis Wollongong. It is about 1-2 hours drive, depending on traffic, south of Sydney. The hotel is in the centre of Wollongong and within easy walking distance of the Mall and food. The rooms are very small and cost $139AUD for Sunday and $149AUD for Monday night. I stayed in a room with a... more
