Having booked with lastminute for a room with a spa the 3 star (you must be kidding!!) City Beach Motel was $175 for the night. When I got there I turned around and walked straight out. My husband and i stayed here to have a quiet and private chrismas. It is really an ok hotel though its not what we expected. The rate is too high for its location, considering its really far from the beach, no great view, no gym, no pool and the bath is pretty ordinary (they have to put profer shower screen... more

We went with the Quest because they were the only hotel in the 'gong' who would give us an 11am check in (we were attending a funeral at 2pm and needed somewhere to shower and change). After searching the internet for a place to stay in Wollongong ('The Gong'), i wasn't left with too many choices for a party of 5 that were attending an overnight function but wanted to stay in some above average accommodation.
