We have been going to The Observatory for nearly 10 years now – Why? Because of the reliability of the facilities, views, weather, staff and local eateries. The high quality of each ensures a relaxing & enriching holiday.

Thank you for your five star review Susan and it is great to know you have been a loyal guest since almost the day we opened. We may not always deliver the expectations we desire to our guests, and can't always control the weather unfortunately lol, but we do promise to always try our best. Look forward to seeing you... Fantastic location across from the beach. The apartment was immaculate, 5 stars. Could not fault anything. Great coffee place next to apartments and just a short drive or walk to main street Port Macquarie. An amazing stay for our family of 7. We will definitely stay again!

Our family returns here each January to enjoy the stunning location, spacious rooms and friendly service. We opt for the 3 Bed Ocean view apartment which combines a two bed apartment and a hotel room. It's perfect for our family with the teenagers in the second bedroom and my parents in their own self contained room sharing the living and... More

This was our 12th visit to the Observatory and as enjoyable as our first. The ocean view rooms are excellent with remarkable views of the beach and waterfront. The location is within easy walk to all activities and eating spots. The service by the staff is 5 star and facilities including pool and spa unbeatable. We will be back again... More

We decided to try to get away for our 1st anniversary, and for a last minute decision you would think we had planned it a year ago! Right from check in the staff were friendly, & very professional. Our room was extremely clean and well fitted out. Even wifi at no extra charge & espresso coffee machine. ( More pods... More

Stopped in on way back when we needed a pit stop back to Sydney and was perfectly fine for what we were looking for. Basic but comfortable and clean rooms, a nice pool and sauna that brought back childhood memories and it has a great coffee shop downstairs. Also highly recommend scampi for dinner - really good food served there.... More

We stayed here for 2 nights over Australia Day and I have only two words - BED BUGS!!!! We were bitten all over and had to completely disinfect all our luggage and clothing. We told the hotel that there were bed bugs in our room but they have yet to respond at all. Do NOT stay here!

We had a fantastic time again. We have been coming with our children since the apartments opened in 2003 and now our grandson is coming along too! Take a room with an ocean view and enjoy meals on the balcony. The kitchens are well supplied if you want to cook for yourself. Town beach is just across the road and... More

The Observatory at Port Macquarie can’t be beat! We have been coming to Port Macquarie for over 20 years, but when my husband and I had children we found hotel/motel rooms difficult to stay in. You need the space, a kitchen and laundry facilities to make your holiday enjoyable. The 2 bedroom apartment at The Observatory is comfortable and luxurious.... More
