My group stayed here for 2 nights. Being from California, we were thrilled with the beach vibe and pleasant surroundings. It was convenient to town and offered things to do. The room was terrible. My friend and I paid extra to get a twin room. We were given a miniscule room squeezed between the laundry and the cleaning room, right... More

Stayed in a Private room in this hostel. Quite basic but had everything you need for a pleasant stay. Large Kitchen area with brilliant facilities, everything was clean and looked well maintained. Hostel has a nice Pool area and staff are informative about things to do in and around the town as well as in the Hostel itself. Defo worth... More

I stayed in Ozzie Pozzie for one night while travelling along the East coast. We were collected from and dropped back to the Greyhound bus stop which was great as it's about a 20 minute walk from the hostel. It's a lovely relaxed hostel with palm trees at the front, a really nice pool and lots of outdoor seating areas.... More

Ozzie Pozzie Backpackers was a good hostel (just like the other YHA's I stayed at). It was a small but roomy enough, and it reminded me of a little cute beach hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly, the location was very good (you could walk anywhere) and the chilling areas were very nice. I would've wanted to stay there... More

Good BBQ, Kitchen and pool. We had a double room which was tiny with bunk beds but shared a living room with 2 other rooms so it was fine. Everyone has to be silent and in bed by 11pm. Enforced by a pretty creepy bloke. Nice areas to sit around during the day,it seemed a very friendly place in the... More

I stayed at Ozzie Pozzies for 5 nights and it has been one of my favourite hostels along the way up the east coast from sydney to cairns. The staff were eager to help and make the experience the best they could. Organizing sunrise surfing and bbq's. Staff can either make or break a hostel and the staff here definitely... More

I spent there only 2 nights but i really enjoyed my time at ozzie pozzie. My greyhound bus arrived really late at night (around midnight) but the staff arranged a pick up from the bus station. The hostel is really nice, lovely paintings on the walls, parrots, great swimming pool, an open living room with hundreds of movies and cosy... More

Let me start off by saying that in terms of location and facilities, this was one of the best hostels we have stayed in. The hostel is very close to the town centre and there is a free shuttle to the bus stop which was great as we are travelling on the greyhound bus. The facilities were also really good... More

I loved Port Macquarie, small enough to be quaint but large enough to be interesting . Local buses don't seem to run very often (especially on Sundays) and they don't seem to coincide with trains very well neither. I arrived at Wauchope (nearest station) on a Sunday and very was grateful to the hostel for arranging a car pick-up, although... More

Definitely one of my favourite hostels on my trip along the Eastcoast. First of all the staff was great, they were so helpful and really fun to hang around. I stayed in a 6-share dorm which I only had to share with two other girls, so there definitely was enough space. The room and our private bathroom were really clean,... More

Ozzie Pozzie is Port Macquarie’s most highly recommended resort youth hostel by "Lonely Planet" and "Lets-Go" and Port Macquarie’s best value and cheap youth hostel accommodation. While this quiet youth hostels location features a great social atmosphere in a tropical setting, it is only 5 mins walk from town, shops and bars. Richard used his 8 years of backpacking hostels experience to renovate and extend Ozzie Pozzie and operate it as a friendly fun-filled hostel with lots of free extras. Newly extended it is spotlessly clean with two cosy courtyards to meet and greet, and lounges & hammocks to enjoy in a cabana around a palm fringed pool. ... more   less
