Tonic is minimalist but luxurious. Great bed, fabulous bathroom in a wet room style, flowers, scented candles, Aesop toiletries (fab!), a stylish pool area and private deck. Certainly the floors are polished concrete, as the previous review states, but to make that the main descriptor really misrepresents Tonic, in my view. Sorry, but we were amongst the people who didn't 'get' Tonic. For the money they are asking you get a tin shed with a concrete floor in a paddock. i spent less on a 4 star in New york the week before Christmas. These guys need a reality check. We stayed 2 nights and although the weather was a bit iffy, the place was great.The breakfast in the room is a good idea and everything you need. Stayed 2 nights at this modern, charming hotel - had a brilliant time. From the start of the booking process, you get the impression you are completely 'looked after'. Nici acts as your concierge prior to your arrival and can arrange restaurants, activities, etc. She really works hard to ensure your stay is memorable (thanks Nici!) The rooms are fantastic.... more

OK so for us the biggest plus point of this cool boutique hotel were: 1. The staff - I got them to organise balloon rides, wine tours, restaurant bookings - all were done super efficiently and anything we wanted was swiftly sorted 2.
